puppy help?
I have 9 month old pup i have been runin some drags for. he is doin good til he gets to the tree. He will bark about 2 ta 4 times then jack the tree and whine then he will come off tree bite sticks or laydown and bight grass or snow then get up on tree bark 2 or 4 times and repeat any suggestions would be apriciated. He can see the coon think is why he is jacking the tree but dont understand the other part.

if it were me i would get a strap on him praise him and engorage him to bark and keep strap tight enough so the pup can't jump it may help but sometimes comes out in thier breeding i wouldn't put the coon where he can see it that also can get that habit started and to many live coon can mess a young dog up jmo
Dont forget to always try and leave him wanting more. If he barks for awhile on it try to pull him off before he loses interest. I have trained labs for duck hunting and this always seems to be a good rule of thumb. Been doing it for my coonhounds now and seems to help them too. Alot can be said for leaving all training sessions on a good note if possible. I got one right now doing about the same and i will pet him up good right when he barks and he seems to be catching on.
