World Championship Finals Program of Events
2013 UKC World Championship Finals – Program of Events
Thursday
Nite Hunt Entry Confirmation:
All entries must be confirmed on Thursday from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Must have Easy Entry Card and dog in hand when confirming. There will be two lines. 1) Zones 1 - 4 and 2) Zones 5 - 8. You will also pick up your Zone Awards at the Confirmation Booth.
Zone Photos:
All entrants are required to have their photo taken on Thursday. Immediately after confirming your entry you must report to the UKC photo booth.
Calling Casts:
All participants must be present for Opening Ceremonies, Finals Format Information, and Calling of Casts at 5:30 pm.
Round 1 Cast Winners:
1) Immediately upon return to headquarters handler (with dog in hand) must report to the Master of Hounds with their judge.
2) Hound and Handler must report to photo booth.
3) They (handler and hound) will be held at headquarters until a different judge is available for Round 2 (alone round).
4) Dog will hunt UNTIL it has accumulated a total score of plus points. Dog has up to two hours to accomplish this requirement.
Friday
Information Booth:
UKC Reps will be stationed at the Information Booth to answer any questions between the hours of 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
Confirming Bench Show Entries:
UKC will confirm your Bench Show Entry between the hours of 4:00 – 5:00 pm. Bring your Easy Entry Card.
Calling Casts Round 3:
At 5:00 pm casts will be called for Round 3. Three highest cast win scores (must have total score of plus points) are in the Final Four. If more than four plus points cast winners, dogs with lower scores will hunt in Round 4 (late round). The cast winner advances to Final Four and remaining dogs will place accordingly.
UKC Slam Event / $500 Added Purse:
The Host Club will conduct a Slam Event with an added purse of $500 sponsored by Nestle` Purina. The deadline to enter is 8:00 pm with a $30 entry fee.
Saturday
Confirming Bench Show Entries:
UKC will confirm your Bench Show Entry between the hours of 9:00 – 10:00 am. Bring your Easy Entry Card. The deadline to confirm is 10:00 am local time.
Nite Hunt Awards:
An Awards Ceremony, recognizing the Top Twenty and High Scoring Dogs of Breed, will be held at 10:00 am sharp on Saturday morning at the headquarters building. Owners shall have dogs in hand for Winners Photos.
World Championship Bench Show:
The Bench Show will begin immediately following Nite Hunt Award Ceremony (approx. 10:30 am). Breeds are separated by sex only. This is a non-licensed show.
Final Cast Interviews:
Final Four owners and handlers to report to headquarters, with dog in hand, at 6:00 pm. for interviews. Spectators welcome.
Final Four Cast Photos:
Immediately after the Final Cast Interview owners and handlers shall report to photo area for Final Cast Photo.
UKC Slam Event / 8:00 pm / $500 Added Purse:
The Host Club will conduct a Slam Event with an added purse of $500 sponsored by Tri-Tronics. The deadline to enter is 8:00 pm with a $30 entry fee.
Final Cast Play-by-Play:
Spectators are welcome to watch the play-by-play of the Final Cast at the headquarters building on Saturday night (approximate time is 8:00 pm). A play-by-play will also be posted on UKC’s website at www.ukcdogs.com.
Notes: Spectators are not permitted on any cast at the Finals. Each handler is allowed one back-up handler. All casts will have non-hunting judges.
Slam Event Information
Slam events are two-hour hunts open to any UKC registered coonhound. Hunting judges. All dogs are drawn out together regardless of category. Championship rules apply. In addition to the added purse 55% of entry fee is paid out to winners. 1) All plus point cast winners to receive entry fee back. 2) Remaining award money paid out to Final Four. First place wins are awarded to each dog in the Final Four. Final Four handlers may choose to hunt it off or split award money, if majority agrees to split.
