ehrlichiosis

I'd like to hear from those that have dealt with this tick disease. I'm treating a dog with doxycycline now but the symptoms keep coming back.

I have a 4 year old walker that has had it for 2 years.

He doesn't go as hard as he did. Summer time, here in Texas, is rough on him. He seems to get over-heated and out of breath easily, even during cool weather.

That seems to be what I've heard from a few different people. Vets tell me that it will go away completely but I'm yet to hear of that happening.

Your treating your dog with the most common treatment. I treated mine the same way a few years ago and would do it again. But there are other methods of treatment. My vet also suggested a trement that involved a few shots. More expensive but if i hada dog not responding to Pill i would give that a try. Your vet through bloodwork should be able to tell how your dog is responding.
