Need Opinions
I have a Smokey River bred female, so she is slow by nature. I was wondering what everyones' thoughts were about maybe putting her on bear instead of coon. It is something I have been thinking about for a little while and I want to know other peoples opinions on it. I can't find any dogs to run coon with her around here so I know for a fact she would get run more if she was on bear, but I am afraid that she may be too slow for bear and get hurt. Let me know what yall think.

I don't think the speed of the dog is due to her being from one line of dog. The selection of dogs that are to be bred should be evaluated to try to get the type of dog that you prefer. If you think that all smokey river dogs are slow go hunt with Tom Jennings or matt Turner and take your sneakers.

LOL! I didn't mean that all of them were, and after I posted and read it I realized that it came off that way. Sorry for the confusion.
