A new trend?????
I've noticed a new trend lately. Dogs scoring 1000+ when there isn't a nonhunting judge. However when there is a nonhunting judge the cast is lucky to come in with plus points. It just makes you wonder. I'm not accusing nobody of anything it just makes me ponder on the subject. Here in the mountains of Kentucky a score of 200-600+ is a good score for a 2hr hunt. I'm sure there is an exception when a dog scores more than 600. Is it just me or has anybody else noticed this.
Nothing "new" here....
Look, it's the luck of the draw, the time of night.... If you are talking about the late round of the Kentucky state hunt, if you read carefully, they didn't start the late round until about 5:00 AM....and only hunted for an hour....
Now I don't know about your spots, but if I don't go hunting til it is just about to get daylight, I'm not gonna tree a bunch of coon in an hour either!
Good grief...they are dogs, not machines....why does everyone think just because you have a good score in one two hour cast that you are going to score that in every cast you are on, despite the guide, the time of night, the location, and the dog being "wore out!".....

Jeffery,
I can't speak about Kentucky, but I shake my head whenever I hear someone imply that non-hunting judges help prevent cheating.
That has not been my experience! Almost each and every time over the last 30 years that cheating stands out as clear as a bell's ring has been with non-hunting judges.

I had a non hunting judge once find my winning coon up in a coon zoo state. Dogs were split all over the woods. Everybody split up. He went with me. Now I can see a coon pretty well most times. I shined and shined. Great big tree. We were on different sides of the tree with a creek between us. We had already circled that tree 3 times. I was done pretty much. When he hollers. Here he is. Well I take off over there and he met me half way and said. Don't worry about it. Im the only one that has to see the Coon. LoL. Plus her up then I told him!
