Southern Blue Pride??
I was looking back through some old bloodlines today. On the historical(Bluetick) reproducers list was a dog named Southern Blue Pride(I think he was out of Hammer V??). The bloodlines was from 2000 or 2001. It had him sire of around 1400 pups with 33 NITECH and 1 GRNITECH. I think his % was 3%? Maybe. Anyway, does anyone know about this dog? He sure got alot of females. His numbers are not great, were his pups trash or were they just not comp hunted?

Southern Blue Pride
John Treadwell bought this dog and promoted him extensively. He advertised that he bought the dog for $18,500 (unheard of at that time). They set up a futurity for Pride offspring, with high $ projected pay-outs. The PCA/PKC Futurity did not exist at that time. The $ numbers Treadwell was putting out there and promoting were staggering for that time period. The advertised price paid for the dog (don't know if it was true or not), the projected futurity pay-outs, and the extensive promotion were unlike anything ever seen before in the coonhound game.
This gives you an idea of why Pride was bred extensively. It had nothing to do with his reproductive ability. It was all marketing driven.
I hunted with Pride when he was in Georgia the night I hunted with him he was all coondog. A buddy of mine bought a puppy out of him that made a coondog. I think the mans name that owned him at the time was John Falcon. Thats been a long time ago.
