Do you think AKC is registering 9000 coonhounds a month?

Someone on the Retrievers board is saying AKC registers 9000 coonhounds a month. Do you think so?

The Black and Tan only had 160 registers in all of 2002. The other 5 breeds are considered foundation stock.

What is your opinion?

The black and tan's most of us have are also foundation stock. I own an AKC Sr.Gr Nite Ch.They sent me a FFS number and told me that my old papers were no good. No big deal I just didn't expect something like that to happen. ...

9000 coonhounds a month??? I don't believe it. But the post says hound group. Still that surprises me...
