coons breeding

I was on a hunt Sat night in Va and we treed two coon that were breeding I've never saw that in the wild. they were locked up like dogs and it was funny to they were squalling trying to go to different ways. that really added fuel to the fire with the dogs.
Has anyone else ever seen this?
