One more hide question
Thank you for all the great responses for skinning. My other question is I see pics with all these hides hanging in tact. The last time I skinned a coon and hung it up, it started rotting in no time. Have those hides been fleshed, tanned, both? Basically what do you need to do to be able to hang them up.

FLESH THEM REAL GOOD STREACH THEM AND LET THEM DRY WITH HEAT, IN SIDE OUT FIRST, BUT NOT TO DRY THAT YOU CANT TURN THEM HAIR OUT.....

Many of the pictures you see with coons hanging with the fur out are all pelts that have been frozen. The pictures were taken just before the unfrozen pelts were taken to the fur buyer.
The pictures of the coon skins with the skin out are what Wingpatch describes below.

most were killed the night before and are fresh skinned freeze your furs the keep them from slipping or they will spoil.
