Dog losing volume

I have a dog thats 4 1/2 years old. He almost completely lost it about a month or so ago, and now he sounds fine, just getting more quiet. I haven't hunted him hard, and his collar is loose, any suggestions?

How long have you had him? Some dogs will loose their voice during the summer time.

I've had him since he was 5 weeks old. It's never happened yet.
