Name for dog with another registry

I have a dog who is registered with the AKC and I am planning to register him with UKC to do UKC events.

Here is my question:

Can I use a different name for him on my UKC application?

He is registered with AKC with a single name and I do not want his official name to be "Ludlow's ______________". I'd rather lengthen his name myself.

Can I do this or am I stuck because he has a single name on his AKC registration paper?

Yes, you can register the dog with us under a different name. Just include a signed statement with your paperwork telling us that you're intentionally naming the dog something different with us than what the dog's name is with the AKC.
