tips of ears necrotic
I'VE TREATED THIS WITH TRIPLE ANTIBIOTIC JELLS, SULFA PUFFERS, ANTIFUNGALS, BLACK SALVE, IODINE CRYSTALS, ETC. IT STARTS AT TIP OF DOG'S EAR AND WORKS IT'S WAY TOWARD THE MIDDLE (OVER A YEAR) LEAVING A 1/4 INCH SPLIT. A VETERINARIAN I WORKED FOR THIRTY YEARS AGO COULD CLEAN IT UP IN ABOUT TWO WEEKS WITH OINTMENT AND CHANGING THE BANDAGES EVERY DAY. I DON'T RECALL HIM SENDING ANY OF THESE DOGS HOME FOR TREATMENT. BUT I'VE FORGOTTEN WHAT HE USED. THE CLOSEST THING TO THIS SYMPTOM I'VE FOUND ON THE INTERNET IS ABOUT NORTHERN DOGS DIPPING EARS IN FREEZING WATER BOWLS. I'M IN THE SOUTH, IT'S JUNE, AND I USE LIXITS. ANY HELP?
try nu-stock ointment
necrotic ears
I got some right now, tonight. Do you think I should bandage him up or not? By the way, have not tried nu-stock.
Thanks, I'll bandage and give it 2 weeks and let you know.
Thanks one more time.

Sounds like fly strike. Once the damage is done, there is no repairing the splits in the ear cartilage.
