How do you get a young dog to help then hunt by there self and make them indepent. i would love to know because if see hunts with other dog se will split off and tree her own coon but i need a dog that will by her self.
if you want them to be independant hunt them alone!!!!! if they have it in them it will come out.
Hunt them by themselves.

Hunt them alone, at 1st it may take your dog a while to get gone but what i do is just wait it out,i turn them loose in the direction that i want them to go and get back in the truck and wait, if they really want to hunt they will get gone and start hunting. sometimes it may take a bit but it does work... also if you can start them buy themselfs to begin with it is alot easier but sometimes takes a little longer to see alot of progress but once they do put it all together they are much better young dogs for your effort. jmo
