Dna Question For The Ukc!

WHAT IS THE DNA APPLICATION FOR TEST KIT AND PROFILE ALL ABOUT? WHAT DO U HAVE TO DO IN ORDER TO BE CERTIFIED? I KNOW IT'S SOMETHING FOR THE BREEDING PROGRAM. I'M HAVING A LITTER OF WALKER PUPS SOON AND I JUST WANTED TO SEE WHAT IT WAS FOR.

THANK-YOU

NICOLE .S.

Well, when you get a test kit it has an application that you have to fill out with dog and owner information and you get a swab to take a tissue sample from the dog. When you send the sample in with your application and fee, the lab will run a profile on your dog. When we get the results back from the lab, UKC enters the profile information on your registration papers and you also receive a certificate for authenticity.

It does make the dog eligible for certain programs and as a breeder it verifies to prospective puppy buyers that your dogs are out of what you said they were out of. No questions.

hey!

SO, CAN I APPLY FOR THE KIT IF I'M GETTING A SINGLE REGISTRATION FOR 1 DOG. OR DOES IT ONLY APPLY TO UKC REG. DOGS?

THANKS- ALOT!
TODD!

Yeah, you can submit a test and app on a dog your are single registering. Once the single is processed and he is assigned a number they will record your dna profile on his permanent record.
