took pup in woods tonite

heres one for sombody i took my 5 and a half month old pup into the woods again tonite with my lab we walked for awhile and then the pup started to growl for a couple seconds 2 times then went about 20 feet in found some fresh coon scat and started rolling in it and wouldnt stop then we stared to walk again and about 20 min later he found some deer scat and really didnt pay no attention to it wich im guessing is good what i am wondering is rolling in the coon scat a good or bad thing has this ever happened to anyone else thank you this is my first hound

i don't let my dogs do it if i see it but they all will try
