take your dog to the vet. he could have an infection or virus. my one bluedog went hoarse like that and i just gave him cough syrup. well he had a viral infection and lost his voice. he had a beautiful bawl and a chop that wouldn't quit. now he has a squealy kind of bark. don't let this go!

hoarseness
We have a year old English male that has totally lost his "voice". He was bitten by a coon and shortly thereafter, he began getting hoarse. After several visits to the vet and loads of antiobiotics, our vet referred him to A&M. He was given a spinal tap and xrays of the brain only to find out that his vocal chords have become "slightly" paralyzed. He was put on additional antiobiotics twice a day and still no voice. It's a shame. He was really starting to get the job done. If anyone has had the same problem and came up with a solution, please let us know.
