Darik's Tenacious Titus~Qualified for the World

Darik's Titus
So my son Darik asked if we could take his new pup out to the woods to let him run and play after dinner,even tho it has done but rained for a few days. I told him we could ..Loaded Titus up and went to high ground, let him out and he hit the ground runnin,with nose down.,I was impressed as Mr Lynch said he had only been out a few times and really didnt do much. But Titus didnt play like most pups not bein out much would do.My son and I watched him for bout 45 min and decided to get back home before the storm hit. we were headed home and see a coon cross ahead of us and my son says "dad can we get Titus out and see if he will chase the coon' i thought why not he wont do much..I led Titus up to where I seen the coon cross and he went NUTS..I couldnt hardly hold him back,so i turned him loose,he opened up bout every step and went close to 60-70 yards and went in to a chop and a few bawls and back to chop..now its raining like crazy so Darik n I went to him and Titus had the sucker TREED..He came off the tree and met us and then right back to choppin like a pro. A lil more happen at his first tree as most of you could imagine..BUT he aint scared of a coon. Darik was so excited the kid couldnt talk right for a minute or two..Darik is hooked an Im really thankful to Tom Lynch for my son having this pup.Will keep ya updated with pictures n videos to come on these two youngins..

Update

Got in bout 30 min ago..Had a real good night with Titus. Made 4 drops, seen 3 coon and he caught one on the ground. Had an awesome cornfield race but Titus just couldnt get mr ringtail lined out. He give it is all tho and was sure enuff tryin. Will try gettin some pictures on here tomorrow. May have to get myself a blue dog now..only time will tell.

Coons are movin

Had a real good past couple of nights,besides the rain.Coon are movin real good around 10-11 pm..Seen 11 dead on the road from Olney to Noble ,several kittens.Titus did an outstandin job runnin a couple tracks and caught one on the ground.Got a Garmin so makes it all alot better.Havent decided if we are goin tonight or not yet,I over heated today and still not 100%.

On His Way...

Had a nice hunt last night. Took Titus and a black female. Decided we would try Titus at the river...Cut em loose an it was less than 3 minutes Titus struck at 87 yrds ,ran ole ringtail out thru cornfield made a few zig zags thru the field and back to the dead river. Both dogs were 290 yrds from us ,when we made it to them black dog was on our side whining cause she sidnt want to cross.BUT...Titus was across the lil river on a huge Sycamore and could see Mr Ringtail bout half way up the tree..He is doin awesome for a pup..2nd drop,,Cut em loose and black dog struck and Titus within seconds after her,Took this one 163 yrds and Titus let out one huge locate and started choppin his lil head off..not one but 3 coon in tree.Figured we would end the night on a good note. Darik loves his hound,Thanks again to Mr Lynch..God Is Great!!!

Family Night

We stayed in tonight, gave Titus a much needed break. Its been a blast watchin Dariks pup progress. Gonna pick up a live coon tomorrow evening and let Titus have some fun at the tree. He isnt treein as hard as I know he has the potential to do and dont like pullin him off of trees that he works hard workin the track to get the coon there..After this kill season,Titus will have a whole new outlook on things with alot of fur in his mouth.Will try to get everyone some videos loaded on here tomorrow night. Thanks for reading,as Darik loves his hound and has been bittin by the coonhuntin bug.

Its 3am

...and we just got in from one heck of a night.Made 4 drops and seen 5 coon.Titus is really startin to come on strong. Showed him his first drag/coon in a tree yesterday and the True Grit finally came out. I litterally had to pick him up and put him in the box to come home,he didnt want to quit. I thought he had drive before,The switch has been flipped. Im really proud of Titus. If he keeps goin in the direction he is goin ,once Darik n Titus starts hittin the hunts I sure hope I dont draw em in the same cast. This hound n my 8 yr old son have bonded and make a great team. I dont even have a hound yet and my son has one treein his own coon.Ive definetly got my work cut out for myself.More pics n videos to come.

Switch Flipped...

Took Titus along with another dog tonight and first drop they both split and went different directions from the time we cut em loose. down the crick the go and wasnt long they both struck and ran a decent track .Split treed and both had coon. 2nd drop Bella went to the hard right and Titus straight ahead,Bella struck in fence row and Titus was out in bean field. Bella moved the track good but couldnt get it figured out. Titus struck in field and moved track to fence row where Bella had left from . There was a big limb broke out of an huge pin oak and Titus was all over it and in it,bawlin like crazy. the limb was layed over into another tree and Titus figured ole ringtail out and let out a long bawl and started choppin away. we let him stay there close to 12 minutes and made our way to him. Sure enuff both eyes lookin down at his ole coon knew he was treed. Made us very proud of Titus. Another hound was just in the same spot and couldnt figure it out,BUT a young pup lined it out like a seasoned hound. Brittany got audio and pics and will try to get em loaded up for yall later today..gotta get some shut eye.

Thank you very much. Its true folks...Took Titus to town,well 2 hrs from the house to see if he could compete on the bench. Titus got one of the things,bout forgot what they were called..oh yeah.WIN SLIPS!!! LOL . Ive been a black n tan man for several years. But i do know one thing,God willin,this hound n Darik will be one TEAM you read about. More updates to come.

Bench Show Win

Titus brought home another win slip. Tonight he got..Best of Breed,Best of Class and Best of Show. Titus has been put in 2 Shows and has won both. Gonna try and see what he can do at an RQE tomorrow..

Best Male of Show-RQE

Titus did it again folks.Went to an RQE and Best Male Of Show,Best of Breed and Best of Class. Titus has had most of his training by our 8 yr old son,Darik. Titus has been entered in 3 shows,3 different coon clubs and under 3 different judges. And won all 3 in a row.The best part is he done this all in 8 days and have win slips to show it. Titus is Qualified for the UkC World and will be handled by Darik,his owner which is 8 years old.Titus is still a pup under a year old. You will be hearin n seein more of Darik n Titus and goin after HTX titles next. When Titus n Darik are ready ,they will be hittin the night hunts.I see a Dual Grand commin!!!

hot weather..

Just been takin it easy on Titus the past couple nights..Been extremely hot and he deserves a break..Ran him hard for several days in a row. Its hard to leave a progressing pup in the pen,but its been way to hot lately. Gonna take Titus to a show in Newton tomorrow night. Lets see if he can "MAKE EM SEE BLUE"

Youth...

Darik will be takin Titus to Jamestown,IL this Saturday for a day of fun n compitition. This will be Dariks very first Youth Event as well as Titus' first Youth Event he has been entered in. Darik is countin the days down and is excited. Titus just needs 5 points to be a Show Champion. Darik is gonna start with the HTX hunt test real soon and after coon season Darik will be pushing Titus in the hunts,both Youth and with the big dawgs..Our 7 year old son Bradley will be gettin his very first Bluetick female soon and then both boys will have a hound at the end of their lead.
