American Redbone Days

Does anyone know where in Olney, IL the hunt is held? Is there a Fairgrounds or something? Is there camping with electrical hookups? Just tryin to get a plan if I decide to come. Its only 4 weeks away.

This is a nice place

We really liked camping in this Park last year at US days. It is big and nice. I'm looking forward to this hunt, lots of good hunting in this area too.

Lots to do in Olney. Check it out.

Olney has a really nice park. I think the county fairgrounds are right there too built into the same park.

Easiest way if you're coming from the east is I-70 to exit 119 which is the Greeup exit and IL 130. Take 130 south. You'll go through Greenup and then Newton and finally come into Olney. The park is on the north side of town, right on 130, on the east side of the road. When you see the Rural King on your right, start looking left because the drive will be coming up shortly.

I'll be there sometime Thursday.

I told my boss that I was going to take that whole week off from work. Jared, you should take the whole week off. Darrin, did you put in for a weeks vacation? Kelly, are you planning on coming over? Jeff, have you started hunting again or are you just the chauffer? We could sure have a lot of fun that week....

I'm sure the Super 8 in Olney is pretty nice but I've never stayed there. I'm staying at The Holiday. It's a mom and pop place but they have been doing a ton of remodeling in recent years. They have a good restaurant in the hotel as well. Everything in Olney will be super easy to find as well.

Oh, just in case you don't know, unless other arrangements have been made the Field Trial and Water Race will be held at the Flora Coon Club in Flora, IL, 25 miles west of Olney. I'm sure they will have maps to hand out and such. It's easy to find as well.

Mr Frederick, tell AG that you will have to come down and "work" with us all week. Isn't PR part of your job description?

That's why we have a few different people on staff. One does the work and the other does public relations. Frederick is well versed on his assignment.

.."Work"..Maybe he could put on a judging seminar on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Only 4 more weeks to go......I wonder if I should start getting a dog ready now or wait until the week before the hunt? If the water park is only 3 minutes from the hunt, why don't they have the water race there? I have talked to a bunch of guys that are going to be there. There should be a big crowd.

Dean, I am not going to take Carter's dog away from her. It looks like she has been working Bubba to get him in shape.

How about a warm up on Wednesday?

Posted by Richard Lambert on 05-27-2014 03:30 PM:

Oh my goodness, there are only 3 weeks left and I still don't have Ol' Dan and Lil Ann ready to go.

Posted by jkhutch on 05-27-2014 05:19 PM:

Oh now Richard, don't be fibbin to us to much. I thought you had one ready to go, but I think you left it in Wisconsin didn't you? Or are ya gonna bring the high scoring redbone from the bluetick reunion? There is just many to choose from . I have seen at 6 or 7 different dogs in the back of that Cherokee on the last three visits to my house. So which one is gonna be " the chosen one" for redbone days .

I only have 2 more weeks to make up my mind. I hunted Wendy and Sheba the night before last and they looked so bad that I didn't want to take either one. Then they went and treed 4 coons last night. Dean, are you going to be down there Wed night? How about Darrin? Jared when are you coming down? I am still waiting to see if Crazy James can get off work to see when I am coming.
