Southern Hospitality
I posted this on one of breed forums also
I keep hearing about Southern Swamp vs. Northern patch wood hounds so I thought I would offer all of you high powered , coon treeing machines from up north to come to Ga. and spend some time with us coonhunting there are comp hunts of all varieties during Feb. and maybe some you northerners can shut us up
Y'all come

Is West Virginia considered southern or northern?
I sure don't have no patch woods and not much water neither just hills and thickets...I'm confused...

Y'all come
down south
I ain't gonna lie to nobody . I've got no desire to come down to the swamps an hunt. Y'all can have it ill stick to the hollers an hills . Good day .
Don't bother me one way or another
So I can only offer this to the guys up north. I will take U hunting anytime U want to come down and go, just last night I walked 386yds through the river bottom with water only inches below my waders to a tree where the dogs were treeing with a coon and before I got back to the truck the waders had Ice on them. See no snakes no aligatore not even BIGFOOT to worry about. Now in the summer just the opposit plenty of ticks, skeeters, gators, and snakes and a few coons and some even say they have seen BIGFOOT, BUT plenty of BBQ fried chicken, and ICE TEA so come on down for a drop or two. And by the way if the invitation to hunt up north where the coons are as plentiful as the skeeters are down here U can BET I will take U up on the invite so the invitation to some good SOUTHERH HOSPITALITY has been extended and welcome south brother. Now this may offend some but I hunt B & T hounds but don't let that bother U thay ain't no good but they will tree a old criple one eyed 3 legged coon now and then. So again come on down. H L Meyer

There is no denying it's rougher country down south than up here. H.L. Meyer you are more than welcome to come hunt, I only live about 20mins from where Autumn Oaks is held. I've hunted all over and I must say it is nice to get to hunt these flat woods, lol. And if you show me BIGFOOT I'll show you one of these 100% accurate dogs I got!!

Well heck the way coon season has beed here in allmost Maryland & the eastern panhandle of WV I'd be glad to just see more than one coon in a row, I dont think the my old dog would care where we hunted. I wish the best of luck to all of ya's north an south good hunt'n.
Ricky
The people that live in Va can't even decide if they are North or South. You can live/hunt in the western mountains of Va where the coons are few and far in between or you can live/hunt in the flat eastern swamps of Va where they are plentiful. And I am coming down there in 2 weeks to experience some of that Southern hospitality around Albany and see how my Northern dogs can do.

well I can tell ya I in va an I from the south !! Ain't to much easy huntn here n my parts !! Ain't no swamps but it a few ridges to cross!
You can call me what you want but you can take the swamps and keep them. I have hunted the mountains way to long that wading water all night is for the birds.
Now you are more than welcome to come on up and try these mountains and corn fields out anytime.

Well now im from the western part of kentucky and we have both types of terrain. Steep hills with rocks and caves. Big farm land bottoms. And wet land swamps. Now it might make somebody mad when i say it but it dont matter the truth is the truth. Those hill side coons our harder to tree than the ones down in the bottoms. I dont know why cause i aint no scientist just a ole country boy that hunts every night. I do think its good to mix it up a bit. Hunt them some in the hills and some in the bottoms. Some down in the swamp and some on the rocks. Sorry if i hurt somebodys feelings.
