(HEY DONNIE It will mark a tree that your dog trees on and leaves)
how does it mark the spot where your hound trees at in case he leaves? I might could use this info for one hound I have.

Posted by DOUG CHEEK on 12-05-2008 01:19 PM:

it's like having a dog that will tell on the young ones ---when they tree and leave ---at least you can find the tree now ---where it's a grinner or coon or nothing ----lol lol lol lol

garmin help

I have been using mine over a year and a half now and love it. There are certain things I do each time before and during the hunt that I believe helps stop things from getting out of whack. Recently a somewhat electronically challenged friend bought one and he was asking seven hundred questions so I sat down and wrote out the steps to each thing I do to keep mine working its best. If anyone wants I can email a copy, I believe it would be to big a file to fit on here. Just PM me your email address and I will be glad to send it for whats its worth it might help alleviate some of the confusion. Next thing I plan to do is same for uploading files and viewing maps. Let me know if you want it.

Turn both the collar and reciever on. Allow time for them to connect, if they are going to....

If they don't connect, go to the dog list, and delete the collar, then select "add new"....follow the directions on screen and you should be good to go.

garmin info

I have been getting alot of responses with people wanting me to email the info so I am going to try busting it up small enough to print it on here.

On another note I was asked about the map cards. I did not purchase the pre loaded maps as I simply downloaded it from the Garmin Topo program and sent it to the GPS.

The card that I put in mine was a blank that can be purchased at Wal Mart or anywhere. Hope that helps. If you go on the Garmin web site there are instructions for downloading the maps and installing them on your GPS.

You should not have to delete current collars out every time you hit the woods. There is something wrong with either the collar or the Astro itself.
