Good Luck / Bad Luck

I guess it's all in how you look at things. Jewell started having Dagger pups everything seemed fine until Jewell stopped at 3 pups. I took Jewell and the 3 pups to the Vet. Jewell had one pup that was breach and the Vet thinks that this caused the rest of her litter <6> to still born. I am thinking it was Good luck that I got Jewell to the vet in time to save her and the 3 pups.
But my Bad luck in raising big litter continues.

Jess it sucks to hear about loosing more than half of your litter. But I am happy that Jewel and the three are well.

Thanks Trav

I don't know if it is because there are just three of them or if these 3 were conceived on the 1st time that Jewell was bred <Bred her twice 3 days apart> I do know that these are the biggest strongest pups at their age that I have ever raised. I sure wish the whole litter would have lived.

i thought it was a misprint------- i never saw pups stand at a week old - or eyes open that early

They look pretty good Jess, they look like they could be out of Coby and Blackjack's litter. (The beauty of line bred pups)

Brian

I believe that one of the most important accomplishments of our breeding program has been, We don't have to count one any one dog to be "The Producer" for us. The overall bloodline is producing some really nice hounds.
Just as hounds like Bruno II,Blue Bird, Red Bird,Ruby. Wrote their names in our history books in the past. Ten years in the future the names Black Jack, Dagger,Gambler, Hooker and Blitz will have earned that status. Ten years after that the pups out of today's litters will earn their place. It's nice to know exactly what we will be hunting for the next 20 years. Line breeding with the correct out cross's will continue to keep these old Light Foot hounds treeing game for all of us.
Here are some up to date pics of the Dagger & Jewell pups

nice pup trainer at that... if it's the one I'm thinking of...

Jess, MAN, those pups just get better! That tricolor pup of yours that is changing a bit...is still a real nice looking dawg! Reminds me a bit of a female that Doug Robinson has... with the blue tail but red ticked body... it's an interesting sort of color.

Will be watching all these litters as they grow. I still really enjoy this line a WHOLE lot!

Have Fun, Happy Hunting! Heather
