Also while his % is good most people don't care that a dog that has 37 NITECH and only 5 GRNITECH...any dog can make NITECH so most people don't find his 13% that impressive just from what I hear

I'm not saying outlaw dogs are different, I'm saying razor is a whole different line. Just like if Joe Melton bought an outlaw bred dog, named it Melton's Red Fireball Luke, titled him that way then sold him, would he be a good candidate to use to preserve the Fireball line?
I understand that a few of you (not saying your on this thread but we all know who you are) like to try poke at people/lines, but it is just stupid. It you don't like a line, don't use it, but there is no reason to try and degrade it. It does not make your line look any better. It does not make you look like a better man. It makes you look like a jealous (even if your not), pety, insecure child. It's like having a fight with your wife and just because your not winning, saying, your stupid, I don't like you anymore and running away.
I'm not trying to defend outlaw here, but I see people doing this on EVERY LINE, and it's consistently the same people. Of course, they mayhhave a great line, and maybe others from other lines would have liked to incorporate their line into what they have, but now they won't because said person is always slamming everyone else, and who wants to work with someone that is always degrading everyone and everything else?

FACTS!!!
Does any "line" begin with just one dog? And where does one line end and another begin? It seems to me that where a line begins is a grey area made up of several other lines. Did the Fireball line begin with Melton's Red Fireball? Where did the Yellow River line begin? Wasn't Gr Nt Yellow River Rocky the first Yellow River dog? But he was out of Gr Nt Melton's Red Fireball and Yellow River Red Daisy who was out of Gr Nt Outlaw Red Moon. Did the T-Top line begin with T-Top Rocky? But Rocky was out of Go Man Sam and T-Top Raven who was out of Hoffmeister's Bomber. Did the Tree Rizin line begin with Gr Nt Outlaw Razor Red? But he was out of Thomas's Mo Bruiser and Marcum's Ky Molly. Did the Hoffmeister line begin with Hoffmeister's Rusty Red? But he was out of Go Man Sam and Mahogany Sweet Lulu who was out of Turpin's Kansas Thunder. Is "Pepper Power" really Pepper Power or is it Pepper X Moonlight Power? It looks like the Stepp's Little Pepper X Moonlight Kate cross has started several different lines to come in the future. I know that I like to talk about Ace bred or Zack bred but there are a lot more dogs/lines that contribute to it besides just Gr Nt Hayes Ramblin Red Ace or Gr Nt Hayes Ramblin Red Zack. Maybe the important question is not where a line began but where they went or where they are going.

I bet that if you asked Alton Key, Harold Hoffmeister, Joe Melton, Harry Oumedian, Tom Solberg, Brent Peel or Kelly Hyde where their line began they would give you at least a half hour story that would include a lot more than just one dog. I bet that in the case of Mr Joe Melton it would be whole afternoon.

It took me awhile----But
what I am feeding now I have traced back to a hound Roy got called Pr Blakes Red Buck 87838 who was out of Pr Magills Jungle Jim 57151 and Arkansas Peggy 252-700. I think this was back into the late 30's early 40's. So, I would have to say that looking at his early hounds and how they were bred---his start had a lot of Jims' blood. I have a set of papers of his breeding practice in the late 40's early 50's and he was doing a lot of line breeding with first cousins and the Aunt-Nephew and Uncle-Niece crosses.

Ive thought about that pretty little red female you had up at red days a few years back. I should have bought that pup and brought her on back with me.

Thanks Preston----
she was nice and if you liked her you would really like the Rose female I have now. I feel that looks and hunt "can" be in one hide.

Preston, did Melton's Big Red belong to Joe or his brother? If he belonged to Joe, was he the first coonhound that Joe owned? Did Joe breed Susie to Big Red or was she owned by someone else????????
What about Nighty Night Kennels and the Nighty Night line? Where did it start. Does it even have a starting point or dog? The guy that has it has put so much effort, thought, time and research into it that a lot of people say that he is "Crazy". I don't know where it started but I do think that I know where it is going. It seems that it is a big conglomeration of lines but I do believe that there is a method to the madness. One of these days we are going to have a line of All Grand Redbones.

I have so many "questions" and no answers this morning.
What about Johnny Coffman's line of Redbones, Jericho, ZBO, Smoky, Little Joe? Have I left any out? Johnny must have started before I was born. Was Coffman's Little Joe the first one? I wonder who he was out of?
