Todd/UKC posted on Tuesday

Here is how I see it after Kentucky and Oklahoma this weekend

Slugger 1290
Jagg's 1260
Kate 1180
Droop Jr - 800
Scarlet 710

Slugger picked up 100 in Kentucky, Jagg's got 60 in Oklahoma, Kate got nothing in Oklahoma, Droop Jr got 60 in Kentucky. I heard that the B&T female Angel got 50 in Kentucky too. I heard that in a strategy move Todd Mathewson has turned Kate over to Mike Wright of Oklahoma to finish the year.

Think the walker might make it 3 in a row. Lets go slugger!

Update from October 8 and 9

Jaggs picked up 110
Kate picked up 60
Slugger picked up nothing

As it stands now unofficially

Jaggs 1370
Slugger 1290
Kate 1240

Four nights of hunting left. If Jagg's picks up two cast wins and Slugger doesn't get two it is over and jagg's will be your winner. I sure would like this scenario. Slugger gets a 50 this weekend, Kate gets 100 and Jagg's nothing (Sorry Phillip, nothing personal it would just make a better race for all of us to watch. It sucks when we all would have fun at your expense) . This would make it Jagg's 1370, Slugger 1340 and Kate 1340 going into the final hunt of the year. All three dogs within 50 points of each other. What an ending that would be. We are witnessing the best race ever! Enyoy it while it lasts.

That blue dog was pretty impressive at our state hunt this weekend. There were not many dogs that cam in with double cast wins. This was the first time that I had seen the dog and he sure was a looker. He is truly a dual purpose hound.

Todd

Who are you going to jinks this weekend? Just like you predicted Jagg didn't pick up any points?

Posted by Scrappin on 10-18-2004 06:40 PM:

Todd psychic?

I don't believe Todd was making a prediction. If I am not mistaken I believe, he said....."I sure would like this.....I don't think that makes him clairvoyant.

I am a blue dog man myself, but I drew out with Slugger both nights of the Fall Roundup and I will have to say he is one of the better hounds I have hunted with in a long time. I dont mind getting beat by a dog like that of any color. I think Slugger is going to Georgia for his last hunt, and Jaggs is coming back to Oklahoma for the Battle of the Breeds. I didnt hear where the other one would be. I will have to agree, this has gotten very interesting.

I to am all BLUETICK but all 3 of these dogs should get a big hand for keeping this race so pumped up for us. thanks to the owners and handlers for all this fun and sorry their has to be a loser ( GO JAGGS)

Posted by catdeere63 on 10-23-2004 06:09 AM:

bull

sorry, but I will never take sides with a flat out crook handler of the Blue Dog(no offense to the Breed)but to deny an honest American Citizen like mr. Charles Adkins of W Virginia from taking a cast win in a big HUNT.Which Charles deserved to win.But was denied the oppurtunity because of someone who had never been to the woods with the dog he was handling!!!!!(admittted on the way to the hunt)!!so my hats off to you Mr. Adkins You WON in the REAL WORLD!!.No big scores at stake, just the difference between a man and a big ole lian lazy mouse!!! till then
GO Yonder
Your Guide!!!!

Posted by Fireball on 10-23-2004 11:31 AM:

nobody would like to see jaggs get beat more than me right now becouse of this race, but flat out the dog is a nice dog! Obviously you knew this man, however you didnt know phillip. this is the kind of Backyard bullcrap these dogs have to put up with every weekend! for everytime you think they get an advantage at a hunt they have 2 tuff breaks go against them! hang in there Phillip! Todd

Posted by Todd M / UKC on 10-26-2004 07:56 PM:

So, we have one weekend left and it is strategy time. Where do they go, Georgia State or Battle of the Breeds? Here are the scenarios:
Jagg’s wins two casts and it is over, he is the 2004 winner. If Jagg’s wins once and nobody else wins, Jagg’s is still the winner. If Jagg’s doesn’t win at all, Slugger will have to win at least one cast to win his third straight Purina title. That is unless Kate wins twice and then she will beat Slugger by 10 points. There are a couple of tie scenarios too. If Jagg’s were to win one cast and Kate were to win Grands both nights they would be tied and Kate would win the tie breaker by virtue of most category wins. If Jagg’s got nothing, Slugger gets 60 and Kate picks up 100 Kate would win by a tie breaker. Without spending too much time on it, I believe is impossible for Slugger and Jagg’s to tie.
