My Young Dog Stolen while hunting....

IT IS WITH A HEAVY HEART I TELL THIS.

WHILE HUNTING LAST NIGHT SOMEONE STOLE MY YOUNG DOG OUT OF SID AND SUSIE. MY ACE BOY. THEY TOOK HIM, TOOK HIS TRACKING COLLAR OFF AND THREW IT IN THE RIVER. THREW IT RIGHT OFF THE BRIDGE IN THOMAS VALLEY. YOU CAN TRACK IT STRAIGHT IN THE WATER. ACE WONT SWIM. AND THERE WAS NOTHING ON THE BRIDGE TO INDICATE HE'D BEEN HIT, AND IF HE WOULD HAVE HIS BODY WOULD HAVE FLOATED DOWN THE RIVER AND NOT JUST SANK RIGHT OFF THE SIDE.

I'M HEART BROKEN. WE HAVE COPS INVESTIGATING IT NOW, AND HAVE FILED A REPORT. BUT UNLESS WHOEVER GETS SCARED, I DONT FORSEE EVER SEEING MY BOY AGAIN.

I NEVER THOUGHT THIS WOULD HAPPEN TO US.

I WILL BE POSTING SOME PICS PLEASE KEEP EYES AND EARS OPEN.

UPDATE:

COLLAR WAS RETREIVED FROM THE WATER ON 5/19/09. COLLAR WAS UNBUCKLED AND NO DOG WITH IT. STILL SEARCHING.

ALL WE WANT IS OUR DOG BACK.

HERE'S SOME VIDEOS AND PICS OF ACE! AS YOU CAN SEE, HE'S A VERY GOOD LOOKING YOUNG HOUND. HE IS DARK RED HEADED LIKE SID, AND HE'S NOT AN EASILY MISSED DOG.

UPLOADING MORE PICS AND VIDEOS AS WE SPEAK, JUST FIGURED THE SOONER I COULD GET SOMETHING ON THE BETTER.

I THINK I HAVE COVERED EVERY SIDE TO ACE, FRONT, LEFT, RIGHT, BACK, AND EVEN A VIDEO. MAYBE THIS WILL HELP.

It is a sad day when someone will go in and take another persons hound. There was a similar situation that occured in Indiana several years ago. The sherriff actually had the volunteer dive team retrieve the collar from the river in that case. Unfortunately the collar was all they ever recovered as there hound was not found. Hopefully in this case you will find Ace. Good luck and hope you can find him....

get some pics up as soon as you can so we can keep watching for your hound. You never know, he might show up at some of the local hunts for sale.
sure am sorry to hear he was stolen. Somebody seemed to know good and well what the tracker was for. It makes me wonder if it was another hunter, because if they would steal your dog then an extra collar would be something else to steal too. But you never know. Could have been some "humane/peta types" too.
When you get pics up I will keep watch down here in Southeastern NC.

Our local dive team, through the Sheriff's Department, would probably assist for something like this as well. It is a good training exercize for them if it is anything. It is worth a shot while you can still get a signal on the collar. Call the Sheriff and ask him.

I'm so sorry to hear about that. I know how devastated I would be if my little boy (or ANY of my hounds) disappeared that way. Hopefully he'll find a way home soon.
