Help! Box barking!

I have a treeing walker that everytime you put in the dog box to go hunting will not SHUT UP. Tried everything from disciplining him to a shock collar....and nothing works. Its constant bark bark bark. What do we do?!

The discipline might be as weak as the shock collar. Get an stronger one and make both last till he gets the message.,

Id say the shocker is the best way but I had one like that and didnt have a shocker Put a choke collar on him and run a lead strap out of the box Every time he barks try to rip his head off and yell HUSH Worked for me You can put a couple lead straps together and roll your window down and give him a jerk while your going down the road

A person would have to know a lot more info on the dog to give you specific advice. I'll tell you the worst thing you can do is to be inconsistant. I see people that will let this go until they can't take it any longer. Then they shock, beat, or whatever and repeat that cycle over and over and think that they have done all that they can. You have to nip this in the bud the first time and stay consistant. This advice goes with any training scenario.

Running a leash up to the cab and jerking his head against the vent every time he cracks his lips WILL WORK. Just be careful not to run off the road in the process!

Or break your window. It's cold out there.

try recharging the collar and make sure its on snug. also don't put another dog in the box. the lead trick works great too. like was stated before be consistent and stop it before it gets on your nerves.

id say you are not hitting him hard enough dont know how long you have let him do this but i would holler shut up and if he dont put the juice to him and not light hit him hard i had a beagle that started that put collar on him hollered at him and fryed him after a couple times he figured he better be quite

LOL Kind of off topic but I had a dog bad about riding and barking so I had the collar on him. I had another that was bad about barking if a dog struck pretty close or I headed to a tree and would beat his tail in the box sounded like a OWS drumb banging rally. I wrapped some duct tape around and round his tail. That solved both his problems. It gave him something else to think about while he was trying to peel that tape off. LOL.

LMAO

RIDE HIM AROUND EVERY WHERE YOU GO, DAY OR NITE , HE THINKS HES GOING HUNTING EVERY TIME YOU LOAD HIM AND GETS EXCITED ,

NOW I HATE A BARKIN DOG AS MUCH AS ANYBODY DOES BUT MY DOGS START RIDING IN THE BOX AT A YOUNG AGE IF IM GOING TO THE GROCERY STORE THEY GET IN THE BOX ,

Simple fix, works every time for me. When you load up put a BARK COLLAR on them. Just dont forget to take it off before you cut them loose. We often haul a couple dogs but only hunt 1 at a time so they need to learn that the box is quiet time.

We have thought about trying the bark collar but didn't know if it would affect him barking at the tree or on the trail.

Accelerate and stomp on the breaks till you hear him thump into the front of the box, yell HUSH!!! Repeat as needed. Works for me.

barking in the box is something I cannot stand either.. This was always what I used to stop barking in the box, after seeing someone hit the top of the box and it work as good or better I use it first and this if that isnt working. Only time I ever use a shock collar to stop barking in the box is if i'm hunting and not at the truck. All mine dont bark wether i'm driving, stopped or have another dog turn out, I plain and simple dont put up with it.

Shock hard enough that the bark is followed by a yelp and hit it every time it barks and be as consistant as it is.
