_Ted Nugent; rock star and avid bow hunter from Michigan, was being interviewed by a liberal journalist who also happens to be an animal rights activist. The discussion came around to deer hunting. The journalist asked, "What do you think is the last thought in the head of a deer before you shoot him? Is it, 'Are you my friend?' or is it 'Are you the one who killed my brother?'"Nugent replied, "Deer aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is what am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the Democrats in Congress."The interview ended_______

Interviewer: How did you get out of the draft?

Ted Nugent: Ted was a young boy, appearing to be a hippie but quite opposite in fact, working hard and playing hard, playing rock and roll like a deviant. People would question my sanity, I played so much. So I got my notice to be in the draft. Do you think I was gonna lay down my guitar and go play army? Give me a break! I was busy doin' it to it. I had a career Jack. If I was walkin' around, hippying down, getting' loaded and pickin' my a** like your common curs, I'd say "Hey yeah, go in the army. Beats the poop out of scuffin' around in the gutters." But I wasn't a gutter dog. I was a hard workin', mother****in' rock and roll musician.

I got my physical notice 30 days prior to. Well, on that day I ceased cleansing my body. No more brushing my teeth, no more washing my hair, no baths, no soap, no water. Thirty days of debris build. I stopped shavin' and I was 18, had a little scraggly beard, really looked like a hippie. I had long hair, and it started gettin' kinky, matted up. Then two weeks before, I stopped eating any food with nutritional value. I just had chips, Pepsi, beer-stuff I never touched-buttered poop, little jars of Polish sausages, and I'd drink the syrup, I was this side of death, Then a week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. poo*, pi** the whole shot. My pants got crusted up.

It's also not about a well-meaning guy like cartwright trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes with this post. I'm betting he got this in an email and then forwarded it to here. He didn't check it thoroughly, but we've all been guilty of the same thing. And, let's be honest, you wouldn't be surprised if Ted said it about Democrats.

This post is about a crazy (let's agree, Ted is crazy; I like the guy a lot and he's a great hunting PR person in some ways because he doesn't care who he's talking to, but he's still crazy) rockstar making a very funny statement about the French or Democrats or whoever. Quit acting like you guys didn't think it was funny because it happened to pick on your party. It was. It would have been just as funny if they had interjected Republicans instead of Democrats.

And don't tell me, just because a right-wing rockstar like Ted Nugent said it, you guys aren't going to use his response to anti-hunters you come across when they pose the "what was this animal thinking" question. It is simple, clever, and accurate as to what a buck deer would be thinking, in my opinion. You'll probably leave off the "they are very much like the _____ " as I would too. It would just serve to inflame the person you are talking to and wouldn't help. You have to admit, no matter what else, Ted was pretty spot-on with the response in that way.
