Treed !!

She'll be 10 years old in April and has given my son and I a great deal of pleasure. Some wouldn't like her and she has her faults like all the rest but I'm trying to get some good pics while I still can . She treed this den on the first drop tonight after working a cold bad track and we could see the fur balled up inside the tree.

second drop

We moved to another holler and got one on the outside on the second drop.

We've owned Kate since she was a yearling pup and she's been nothing but a pleasure. A natural born tree dog that was treeing coons in the wild at 7 months old by herself.

I pretty much know what we've got and sure am going to miss her when she's gone .

Inbred Lipper on top and out of a grandaughter of River Bend Flag on the bottom

Not the same dog as in the first picture- but if she is related to who yoiu named her after-I would get some pups!!! These old girls are both doing it right!

The pics of the female walkers are both the same dog . Nt Ch Hickory Hill Kate , they were both taken tonight on two different trees in two different hollers .

That's a pretty fine hound you got there yourself . It sure is hard watching a good one get old but I'm determined to let mine hunt as long as she wants to go and can do so comfortably.

Mike T . there are some Skuna River Fred pups out of Kate that just turned six months old and I have high hopes for them.

If Kate was a couple years younger I wouldn't mind loaning her to the right kind of person . I actually offered her for lease a couple years ago to a fellow that wanted something for some Lipper semen . I think he said he was afraid it would be too much lipper with her /LOL!!

Because of her age I think I just want to keep her close to home now. She 's actually due in heat and if she has a regular cycle I am still comtemplating whether or not to breed her one more time. A couple of the Fred pups from her last litter are showing some promise.

I'd like to take a stab at something here and guess that the old dog goes back to boone on the bottom thru a dog called Tom Horn. Tell me if I'm wrong.

I would like to know ...Have you bred him to many gyps and what were the crosses bred like.
