Pet Armor Plus = Generic Frontline?

Anybody used this stuff? Supposedly the exact same ingredients as Frontline (patent expired?), little over half the cost, available at Wal-Mart.

Same as Frontline Plus made for and onlly sold at Walmart. A generic version. I am not sure how patents work, but I do know Frontline Plus was patented in 2003. Being able to save $ without giving up performance is a good thing.

The formula patent is what expired and has opened doors for competitors to make and sell it.

Kinda like when the drug formula patents in human drugs expire, it opens the door for other companies selling it.

Basically, the original manufacturer loses the right to be the only supplier of that particular drug formula.

FidoPharm is making Pet Armor Plus and has teamed up with ASPCA to launch it.

Are you saying that the ASPCA is a profit making organization with this product? If so......I'm not giving money to the enemy.....it would be just like making a donation to the Humane Society.

That's also the way I looked at it...

Randy, PetArmor will be ASPCA's official flea and tick sponsor.

For the launch of the new product, they have teamed up and have the PetArmor Protection Pledge.

quote:

The PetArmor Protection Pledge aims to create a community committed to better pet health. FidoPharm will donate $1 (up to $100,000 total) to the ASPCA for each pledge taken on the PetArmor Facebook page.
quote:

In addition to providing free treatment, FidoPharm is donating up to $100,000 through the PetArmor Protection Pledge to support the ASPCA's efforts.

While the PetArmor Protection Pledge is based on pledges on their facebook, I would say profits from consumer purchases is helping to support the free treatment that ASPCA will be receiving.

Dadgummit! I'd rather spend a little more than fund the enemy. It would be nice if their company execs knew how much business they stood to loose by aligning themselves with those yahoos.

Eric - Read this again.....slowly. It is the Humane Society and ASPCA's intention to eliminate hunting. Buying this product supports their cause and if they succeed you won't have hunting dogs to feed.

One way or another I wilol always find a way to get what I need, feed the family, enjoy my sports and NOT support the enemy !!!

It may mean I don't go to an event one time this coming month, or going out to dinner but we have got to stick together and NOT SUPPORT anything that gives these folks ammo to fight us !!

Eric - You are absolutely right. But, on the other hand I will not support something I KNOW is directly going to their cause. So many times we find out after the fact that a company or organization supports one of the anti's cause. I have wrote letters to these companies and I inform EVERY hunting related club and person I know about this. Years ago, I started a firestorm with Pepsi. I wrote to them about an anti-hunting stance that was circulating. Pepsi headquarters informed me and two of the clubs that I told that the stance was that of the a local source and that in no way was it Pepsi's stance. They went on to tell me that they would take care of the issue. Toooooooooo many times some bleeding heart liberal INDIVIDUAL takes upon themselves to use their company to support their cause. We have to call them out. If you are not happy with a company or organization it is just as easy to google their name, hit "contact" and send them an email letting them know that you, your family, your friends and every hunting organization that you know will not support their product. Money talks. If a company knows that their profits are going to take a hit a lot of times they back down. Most of the time when they won't back down it is because a bigshot in the upper corporate level believes in the anti cause. I know I am not getting this right, but, there is a saying something like this, "The biggest wrong is when good people do nothing."

Hang in there guys, somebody else will put the product out in a generic form sooner or later.

Much as I'd like to buy it now, I can't bring myself to do it.

I went to their website to check this out.

Not only did I find the anti-hunting position mentioned in the link above, but I went down a little further and found their position on "furs". They are totally against the fur trade whether raised on a fur farm or taken by hunting or trapping.
