Gone but not forgotten......

GRHBCH CH White River Big jake passed on this morning, sound asleep by my stove.

Jake won the Black gold race and set the then record 235pts , He also won NHBA Days, multiple state hunts and Top ten world finishes. Jake produced over 25 finished hounds which produced 2 Black Gold race Overall Wins ,2 junior male wins , 1 National Champion , and dozens of state hunt wins and large events.

Jake was the Foundation of Heat em up kennels and many others around the country. I want to thank evrybody that bred to Jake over the years and made him the producer he was. I also want to thank all my close friends that helped handle Jake over the years and also Dale Prunty for giving me such a hound, at the time I didnt know what I had. Jake would soon prove to be like no other dog that I had ever handled, great memories.

More importantly Jake was my buddy, the first dog id grab to go gun huntin, and the last one to put away....he will be missed
so long ol buddy......

thanks fellas

Mitch

Sorry to hear of Jakes passing, I remember how much independence Jake had setting himself apart from the rest of the cast to have so many jumps and first strikes. A good one is now a legacy.

Nice to have ran with him the three to four times I did.

He was one of the great ones. Wish i could have seen him run in his prime. My memory of him is about 3 months ago when we were running pups out of kita and ol jake was in there. He would run a lil bit and then come up with us and just watch to make sure the pups were doing the right thing. And when they would lose the rabbit, he would go down and straighten out for them and come up and sit by us to watch. Great dog and he will surely be missed

Sorry for your loss Mitch. He is a legend in beagling, no doubt about it. Not only as a trial/gundog, but as a producer. He will be missed for sure.

Mitch

"Soon again you will sit alone and listen to the pack cry...it is then I will come very near you...only this time in spirit...you will FEEL my presence.. you shall speak to me and I will answer. Goodbye now, we will meet again. This my friend is NOT the ending....it is just the beginning of a new life...for Heaven hath spoken." *Willet Randall*

My heart feels for you. These words have always made losses for me a bit more bearable during times of loosing a hunting partner. THIS, is what I call coming full circle. Most of our great hounds, no matter how young they may be today, will sadly leave us. I can never get used to saying goodbye but that is why I felt every trial, hunt or even kennel time, to be a important event with every hound Ive owned.
You will always be close to your pal, as you see his off spring excel in our sport, and always have him as a measuring stick for your future hounds.

Deepest sympathy for your loss, from up on Smokes Creek.

Ricky G
