Lipper Female Breed To??

OUT OF LIPPER SEMEN X GRNT BANJOS DANDY SANDY(OFF OF BANJO) I AM PLANNING ON BREEDING HER TO WILD STYLE BUT HAVE TALKED TO SEVERAL STUD OWNERS SINCE THEN, HERE ARE SOME OF THE OTHER STUDS I HAVE ALSO CONSIDERED:
ELVIS
TAR NAILOR
WILDCARD
IF I BRED TO ELVIS THEY WOULD BE 2XLIPPER AND 2X SACKETT JR
IF I BRED TO TAR NAILOR THEY WOULD HAVE NAILOR AND LIPPER AS CLOSE AS YOU CAN GET THEM. THEY ARE ALL GREAT STUD DOGS, WHAT WOULD SOME OF YOU BREEDERS GO WITH.
ANY OPINION IS APPRECIATED.
THANKS
TREYE

since your from the land of lots of coon,id get as far away from lipper as i could.

thats just my opinion and that is what you asked for.

Cross

Cross her on some Flag blood .

You won't be sorry !!

Heres my heavy Lipper X heavy Flag cross

Posted by Philip on 01-26-2007 07:21 PM:

what are her traits? is she the basic lipper dog. There has been the success with the lipper Jr, which you all ready have, loading up on any more would make them go more one way. If she is balanced, I would go for more balance, if she is more track go towards more tree and the same the other way. zOf the ones listed I would go with wild style.

I WOULD DISREGARD THE OPINIONS OF EVERY PERSON ON THIS POST THAT HAS STEERED YOU TOWARD THEIIR/THEIR BUDDIES STUD DOG. THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT YOUR FEMALE'S ABILITIES OR FAULTS. THEY DONT KNOW WHAT KIND OF DOG SHE WILL PRODUCE. THEY ARE TRYING TO GET THEIR STUD OUT THERE AND BRED. A MAN CAN NOT POSSIBLY HAVE AN OPINION ON WHAT TO BREED TO A FEMALE HE HAS NEVER SEEN BEFORE. NOT KNOCKING YOU GUYS THAT ARE TRYING TO PROMOTE YOUR STUD, JUST TELLING THE TRUTH. ALL YOU WILL GET FROM A POST LIKE THIS IS MEN TELLING YOU WHAT STUD IS HOT OR TRYING TO GET YOU TO BREED TO THEIR OWN. JMO

You are 100% correct !!!!!!!!!

Have you ever heard of a stud dog owner turning a "customer" away, AND telling him of another stud that has better potential of crossing with their female......NOT GOING TO HAPPEN !!!!!

If the man asked what to bred to then he is open to suggestions. If I had a nice walker female I would bred her to Track Man or Cold Sweat. And I will tell you why. I think we dumped loose the last time at 4:05 this mourning. We hunted 6 dogs off Track on snow and ice and it was 26 when we got done. All six dogs were nice and the oldest was like 22 mounths old. The six males were off three different females and all six dogs were a lot a like. Not every tree we made had a coon seen but the ones that didn't were dens. Not bad for young dogs on ice and snow. All I can say is that so far every dog I have seen out of Track has made a coon dog. I think that is a preety fair way to judge a stud dog and see what he does on different females. Evryone has their own opinion just as I do but the best way is to try to hunt with the stud before you bred to him and I don't mean one night. Or hunt with several of his off spring. If they all have the same traits then that is more than likely what you will get out of your female. I would be proud to own each and every dog we turned loose last night. Good luck with your choice and the pups you get what ever they are out of.

If you live in Iowa then you shoud give Curt Ahring a call and go down and hunt with the sweat dog. He is nice.

Treye, I got to agree with Mr. Baker, Trackman. I think you would like the results. If you want a COONDOG close to home, I dont know if you know CJ Anderson but I hunted against him one nite in millerton. Think he lives up by chariton. Cant remember the dogs name but he was out of X jr or Skipper. Anyway, the nite I seen him he was a for real coondog. Made everything look bad. I am sure he isnt perfect but the nicest I have been in the woods with for a few yrs. Just a thought.

go to Lippers Stylish TJ. I line breed whenever possible.
I have just seen lots of good stuff on both. If either is close to you, that is what I would do.

good luck

I have to disagree with the statement saying some of the guys are just promoting their stud. I have to defend Booboo Brady. Tar was mentioned, and Booboo posted what he has produced. I have seen several posts that have been made and Booboo has stated a different stud.

I will have to say out of the ones mentioned, Tar would be my pick. I would also keep Trackman in mind. he has produced some good ones. I have one on the way. Come May, I guarantee you--I will be hunting one of these WINNING team "TAR" hounds. I have already asked Mr. Brady to keep his eyes and ears open for me. I think the record speaks for itself. This is only my opinion

I would seriously consider breeding her to Cold Sweat. He is all grand and Curt just finished him to grnite. He is a real nice young dog and he can flat drive a coon track. I don't care who owns them or what they are out of. I like a dog that can get it done and Sweat can flat get it done. Two of my buddies and I have 3 littermates off Track Man and a Sacket Jr Son female and they are all making nice dogs. I'm a blue dog man at heart but I will hunt anything that I think is a coon dog and that male dog out in my yard is making a coon dog. So are his brothers. I also know where there are two or three more that are coon dogs. Track will leave his mark on the walker dog world and he has a good start on it already.

hey booboo read the whole post,,i aint promoting nothing of mine,,
i mention 2 dogs that were owned by 2 other people,
i owned boones mother from a pup till she died here of old age,she run her own coon from the time she was 4 1/2 months till she died.

i have a 13 yr old dog(ch.cruzen hawk I"joe") out of her that was doing it all at 7 months..i have several males out of joe that are nice but i wasn't mentioning any of my dogs,,,
i never knew boone was alive till last year and went hunting with him,we made 2 drops ,2 trees and shot 2 coon...,,,he is totally owned by ray webb of johnstown ohio not me.....

the other dog mentioned was a lawyer bred dog in indiania belonging to mike van dusen(spelling ?) i dont own a hair on that dog either....

i'm glad your dog throws regular type coondog pups,,its plain to see that they arent takeing after nailor then,,

i wont breed to anything up close to nailor myself as i dont have a horse trailor to haul the pups in ...
and i dont do the nite hunts either as i've seen what hunts in them and i perfer not to chance getting a good young dog messed up...
i got caught up in that nite hunt sceane and a neighbor showed me what was happing to me and i got away from it before i made some bad calls...

good luck to you, your dogs and your dogs normall type pups,,

WildBill, I also talked with (have never been out with) RAY WEBB, sounds like he's got some real nice coonhounds down there in Johnstown. Good lookers too! I love my blues, but his walkers are nice.
As for nite hunts, they do change a person, don't they?

THANKS FOR ALL THE INPUT.
SHE IS A TOP NOTCH TRACK DOG, SHE IS TOUGH TO GET A STRIKE ON, LOUD SCREAMIN SQUALL ON TRACK, AND LIPPER HATERS SHE IS STRAIGHT AS THEY COME, SHE IS NOT BROKE, SHE IS STRAIGHT, HER FAULT IS SHE LOOSE AT THE TREE, SHE WAS SENT TO A COON PEN BEFORE I GOT HER, THIS COULD BE A MAN MADE FAULT, AND SHE BAWL MOUTH TREE DOG. SO TO SUM IT UP NEED TO LOAD THE PUPS UP W/ SOME TREE POWER, OR A STUD DOG THAT CAN BALANCE IT OUT. THANKS TO ALL THAT HAVE REPLIED.
