belt lights vs cap lights

What do you guys think is better for day in day out hunting, i recently lost my lights in a fire and i'm looking for a new one, i've always only had nite light products and am looking to branch out thanks guys...

I have personally never seen a cap light that I would want to coon hunt with on a regular basis.

Bright eyes box light or their new cap lights, you wont be disappointed.

Only differance I see on the lattest out is burn time. Bright eyes has a real nice one out now. They are the lights I have used since I got away from the night lites. I like them and there service. Just waiting to see if they can get more time out of them but will probubly go ahead and get one. I am not very patient when getting to get away from the cord. Nice to grab it to feed the dogs and take it off when I am in the truck.

One thing I've thought about is what if your hunting around a river and happen to fall in the cap light floats on down the river. At least the belt light has a cord so you can retrieve it.

Posted by Okie Dawg on 04-11-2012 10:29 PM:

One other thing I would say is that I am hard on a light. I can't bend down much so I hit my head a lot. That makes me afraid of buying the plastic ones. I think they might be lighter but I don't think they would hold up for me.

After switching to a cap light, it would be very hard for me to ever go back to a belt light. Very handy!

I have the biggest baddest Bright Eyes with their LED head. I gig with it a good bit. If I fell in, to the bottom of the river I would go. LOL

I've had about 5 different cap lights. They are nice but I strap on my belt light to go hunting every night.

belts have an advantage in burn time, althouugh not really a lot. If you worry about battery life, the belt will most likely last longer, due to the need to charge it being less. the cap is more conveinent for sure. you take it off, and its off. for me, i'm going to get me a cap light, but i'll always have the belt one in the truck as a back up. in fact i do now, that is carry a back up. WHY? I don't really know. The Bright Eyes Lights that i have are very dependable, and they have never failed to get me out of the woods yet. I know this, when i do buy one, the cap, it'll have bright eyes written on its side.

I have seen some that were plenty bright BUT lights up to small of area. I guess I am spoiled but I want a big area bright and long burn time. Then it has to be metal so I don't break it. LOL
Bright Eyes is the only one that gives me the best of all worlds.
I like the turn switch too. It is easier to find and work with gloves on.

I really like my Boss Super Lite with Cats eye. From time to time I think about getting a cap light, but I have my garmin on the other side of my belt. The Boss Super Lite is 1 LBS1 OZ so I really don't know if the garmin pouch with 2 back up AA and the garmin maybe heavier. I know a lot of guys that have cap lights now wear a vest but they are hot in the summer. One thing you can't go worng with the Cat's eye in any color you don't have to keep up with a pop cover.

Billy your rigth the Sunspot has a big spot, but it does not have the brun time of a +20 volt light. In the summer time I find the coons best a few feet away from the spot and summer came early here just me.

You sure????? Look at the various 21 Belt Lights on the market on High and Low burn time and them compare the High and Low burn time on the Sun Spot.
