how to price a dog...
i need to know how to price a dog i am thinking about selling mine, but i have never sold one before nice dog female all grand pedigree very accurate hard hunter nice mouth will go until she finds a coon u will not call her off of a track not mean or ill at all i dont want to cut myself short but dont want to overprice her and scare anyone away either.
How old? Super Staked? PRP? Those 3 things effect price as much as anything for many, on the other hand they might not even be considered by others.
The few I have sold were $1500 for 3 year old, rock solid pleasure dogs and I have never had anyone ask for their money back.

first need more info. age , breeding, been in any hunts, bawl on track? locate? chop on tree? independent? size, color, lots goes into setting a price . if never been in a hunt take to one a win really makes the price go up. all grand means nothing if she not a grand herself or could be??? start high you can always come down good luck!!!!!

i would not buy a dog unless i hunted it first plain and simple!!!!!
A dog is worth what one man is willing to sell it for and another is willing to pay for it.
Simply price it what you feel it is worth and show it in the woods to anyone that wants to see it go and negotiate from there.

Allways remember, just because you see a dog advertised to sell at a certain price does not mean the dog actually sold for that price when the deal went down. Also, it doesn't even mean that a deal went down at all. It was just advertised. There are 2 ways you can price anything. The first way is to put a big pricetag on it so you can stick your chest out and brag and boast about how fanstastic your dog or car or house or whatever it is is, OR, you can actually price it to sell it.
The things I sell, I usually price according to the reason that I want to sell them, what ever the reason, don't like it,want something new,has a fault I can't stand,or the biggie just plain ol need the money. And think about what you would give for the dog if you were buying it.

I'm picky about my dogs. Biggest thing for me when looking to buy one is honesty. I've went through my share of them lately looking for the right ones. So far in the past year I've bought 6 and went and tried out about a half dozen others and 2 were as decribed. Nothing makes me more upset than driving 5 hours each way to try a dog that's susposed to run and tree its own and then it won't leave your feet when you take it out to see it go. Be honest with yourself and make it easy on everyone. I know personally I'd pay top dollar and wouldn't haggle one bit for a good dog that does what the seller claims it will do.
As stated before age abilty ss and pp paid up make a big differance. I'd pay you a lot of money if she was 2-3 years old or younger paid up and doing what you say she does, I would give you much less if she's 6 and just a pleasure dog (but still a decent amount if she does what you say)
I would have been interested but you let the cat out of the bag that she cannot be called off a track so I am no longer interested I don't what Kc she is out of.
500$ if itcan run and tree by it self 500 more if it has a big mouth 500 more if its good looking 500 more if it has a good ped if it is exceptinol in tracking or locating 500 more if it all the above and 18 mnths or younger and another 500 to 1000 can be asked then fine tuning the price from here depend on if it has any titals or from a great cross that everybody wants and always remember you can always take less but ya cant raise theprice in the middle of negoations thats how i do it
still looking and listening to ideas

I was once told by a well known bluetick breeder who shall remain nameless to price the dog very high, you can always come down, and you will get noticed more. He never had a problem selling dogs.

That's it. Be fair priced to both parties, but as another posted...a dog (and anything) is worth what somebody will pay for it.
Extreme X sold for a reported $50,000+. Most would say he wasn't worth that much, but he was to the one who bought him!

I bought a hound for 600 that I wouldn't sell for 10,000. Some people just don't know what they have.
