Official policy
Okay Allen or Trevor
Recut
It is decide it the beginning of the hunt. Nonhunting guide says you are burning up your entire hunt here. So all dogs get treed together, on first tree. Shine times up and tree voted on. What is the policy on the recut.
Up to the cast when to recut
Cut immediately
Walk a minute and recut
Remember the clock is running as now a time out can not be called. If it's a cast vote no big deal, but one may want to recut at the base of the tree because his dog's broke not to go back another May want to walk the hunt out because his ahead. What's Ukc policy on it?
Handlers may recast from a distance where all handlers are satisfied to cut from. No time applied to walk any certain distance, just as it's always been. Some may want to recast right there at the scored tree, while others may want to lead their dog away from the tree a short distance before recasting.
In the case of more than one handler, both dogs should be recast from the same spot that was suitable for both. One should not be allowed to turn loose at the tree while the other handler walks his dog fifty yards away from the tree to recast.
Up to the cast
That'll work thank you. Before in this seniero, I didn't care. Because all dogs handled and scored. You could call time and walk an hour if the cast wanted. Now you can't. And the only time it comes into play is when all dog are handled or in the case of split trees. If not you listen for remaining dogs tracking and recast toward them. But I've heard the minute thing before as that's a different registry rule. And have also been told cut immediately. I always made it a handler be comfortable thing when judging. Unless it became unreasonable. Thanks again.
