Question for the alpha experts

My alpha will only charge to 88 % anybody know the problem

Take bat out clean all terminals on handheld and bat then put it back in power it on run it dead plug it in problem fixed bet ya

Is it a new system or battery or did it just start doing this. If so, then how old is it. Dates are on batteries.
