back to rolling.
had awesome hunt the other night, just took old minner out by herself and let her monkey around at own pace. not being jealous of young gun dog blasting out ahead she hunted way better than has in some time. didnt set any speed records but treed 2 coons and called it a night. looked good for old dog thats pretty well deaf, half blind, lost her nose, mouth, and greyer than bruce hobbs. trying a mixture of two new dog foods and seems to have little more energy.
been hunting sky mostly by herself and looking good. we had rough few hunts where i was ready to quit and take up the rocking chair and tv remote.
tonight first dump in place there shouldnt be a coon she blew up wide open under 30 yds from where cut loose and never stopped. after real long track ground caught one small enough she made easy work. walking her off that blew up 50yds away so let go and treed 90yds back the other way. spotted eyes walking in but couldnt find again and she was treed on downer mess going into bigger tree.
back to rig made a loop out of property and had a nice shooter buck cross in headlights. went just past deer and dumped her out. got strike quite aways in and short bean race. whole litter up oak tree. sky getting back to resembling half a coondog....

litter.

Thats good its picking up. Ive had just the opposite. It was good all spring and summer, treeing lots and seeing coons. The last 2 weeks now has been junk.
no I caught ton of game all summer considering junk I'm hunting, did plenty well. just had like 4 horrible hunts in a row but seem to be back to normal.
