Pups dying at a week ?
My female had 7 pups one born dead. The day they turned a week old there mother which is the best mother dog I've ever owned start putting nothing but brown water looking stuff through her. I mean everywhere. I bleach kennel out but two of the other pups where putting same stuff through them and the following day they were dead. I'm down to three that seem to be doing fine but what happen, I lost a lot of money on these pups but it was a great cross and that's what bothers me more than anything.

My thoughts
As far as her! Sounds like she got a real sensitive stomach after cleaning up the after birth and then as she started to clean up after the pups,it got worse. When ever a female that has pups starts to get watery stool, from what I have seen for myself is always caused from a sensitive irritating stomach and bowel. Usualy happens as the pups get older and she has more to clean up after. Being the pups are still very young, never have seen it happen so early. I usually go to a bland diet of rice and burger and make sure to drain the fat off the burger before mixing it with rice. Feed it morning and eve untill her stool get solid once again. As far as the pups goes, not sure there is a connection there. If the female doesn't get back on tract, she's gonna dehydrate quick! JMO from what I have seen here at the kennel! You stated that the pups were putting the same thing thru them so I elimnated the pyametra factor that some females get after whelping pups so I take it,it's her stool that is the problem! Most pups at that age, stools are normal like that until they get older. Good luck with it!

Her stool is solid now and she's eating good. The other three pups are doing good. She's such a great mother dog and this is her fourth litter and probally last. Scared me to death I would loose her and she needs hunted anyhow. Wake up call for me.
