I have a female that will tree coons alone all night but hunt her in competition she just wants to use her big ears and pull off her tree what's the best way to break this big eared problem

Imo dogs are either leaders or followers you can work on her with a shocker she may start holding her tree but the dogs I've had like that i always wondered if they would stay or pull i won't mess with one that won't hold a tree but that's just my opinion

This will be against the law in most states. For sure if traping season is not in.
What I have done with some luck. Catch two coons. Get another dog or two. Have a couple freinds help you. Put both coon in a roll cage and put them up two trees about two or three hundred feet apart. Use a rope around 100 feet long. Have the other coon already up the other tree. Bring your dog out an let her start on the ground. Start pulling the coon across the yard and up the tree. Let her get settled in treeing the caged coon. Bring the other dog or two out and let them tree on the other coon. You need to be free so you can stay between the two trees. When she leaves her tree to come check the other dogs. Whip her and send her back to her tree. You might have to lead her back to her tree the first time or two. Don't be to rough the first time, be a little more firm the second time. Repeat this till she stays on her tree. Wait a couple days and do this again. If she is a smart dog it shouldn't take her long to realize you want her to stay on her tree. This has helped big eared dogs might help her.
