Memorable Hunt (check it out)

Well about a week ago I went out to Richard Claypole's farm near Caldwell for a pheasant hunt. Richard has several SR bred and good looking blue dogs at his place. However, Richard has had both knees replaced and can't get up and down the ditches. I mentioned coon hunting and he was ready to set up a hunt. I mentioned to Richard about contacting Warren Haslouer who only lives a few miles away to see if he was able to get out. Well the next day, I visited with the advisor, (Jim Combs)and he was in on the hunt. Jim got in touch with JoAnn (Warren's wife) and the hunt was on. I met Jim Friday morning, picked up Joe Riker, an old friend of Warren's and headed to the Claypole farm. Getting Richard in place as a guide and two of his friends (Brian, and Dennis ?) we picked up Warren and headed to the woods. This hunt was planned to allow two older hunters another coon hunt. The first dump ended up with dogs treed and several coon up a big Cottonwood. The best was that we drove within 40 feet of the tree. Warren, not being real mobil was able to set in the truck to see the coon crawl down and the hounds getting it. The hounds then ran and treed a coon that the older guys could hear the race and tree. Topping off the hunt was almost a carbon copy of the first tree. We were able to drive to the base of the tree to see a third coon. The hunt had lasted a couple of hours, treed three coon and no one was uncomfortable. Jim or I one will write a more in depth article about this hunt. I remember most details of the last two hunts when Warren was along, I am going to write the details down on this one not to forget the small talk.

Thanks for the report, Dennis. That was nice of you guys to do that for Warren and Richard.
