2 Hunt Questions

1. Handler trees his dog before striking it? What should be done?

2. Dog is treed and hunt is over as cast is heading to tree the guide says dog is treed on posted property and we cannot be in there. What do you do?

Thanks in advance!!!

#1 is not a scratch. That one was covered in the Advisor awhile back. Judge cannot accept a tree call without first taking a strike call so the answer is you refuse the tree call. If the dog has barked 4 times without a strike call, you minus strike points.

#2 has no answer in the rules. If it was my dog, I'd say we are scoring her but you need a majority to score and you can't force anyone to trespass. But I know UKC takes a very dim view of using the posted land excuse to keep a dog from beating you. I believe if you don't score it, you then must delete strike and tree. You can't circle it if you don't score it.
