VERY TOUGH!
WOuldn't know about the GOOD hounds... cause ours are just pets but... the only one we have now has seizure disorder.... We're on the LAST chance for the meds to work stage... and if this dose doesn't work we have to go to the Big Hospital... Most wouldn't even bother to spend the $ it's going to cost but..... we are suckers and will go without ourselves to help this pet....
Seizures... I've been thru tons of stuff vet wise, I've dealt with tons of horse medical emergencies, human stuff etc... seeing Webster have his first full blown seizure was a real shock even to me... I fell apart for a moment before I remembered that HE needed ME right then...
Before we knew he actually had epilepsy we used to give him a bit of Karo Syrup, mollasses or his favorite goodie - marshmellows. FOr our older bluedawg(who died of cancer this past summer
) had ONE small seizure but never had another with the karo syrup or mollases....
Best of luck with your hound... will be sending prayers and hope it is a blood sugar thing!
Heather (and Bob too once he hears about this)....
