Bad Luck Hunt

We were in the middle of a winter warm spell and I thought I might take a hunt. So I head out to state land and turn out over 1/2 mile from private property.

Guess what? Yep, the dog ends up on the private prioperty. As if that isn't enough she ends up in a guys ole locked barn.

No problem the guy was home ... well it was no problem if he would come to his door! I would knock and he would come to the door look at me and go back into the house.

It took me an hour to finally call the dog out of the barn.

Then there was the heavy fog, and the crazy women yelling at me at midnight.

Hmmm I may not know who the crazy one is!

I know what you mean. I went last night and the two I carried caught one on the ground and killed it. I thought this was great so I turned out again, no strike and the dogs came back. Next turn out the pup busted a deer. The older dog fell in and helped until the collar finally stopped her. The pup kept on and I finally got her stopped with her collar.

Training time began. I turned the pup loose on some deer and shocked her repeatedly and she kept right on running. I finally got her back and turned her out on some more deer and finally caught her and we discussed what she was not supposed to do.

Tonight I took the pup by her self and put her on deer two different times and she still wanted to run them. I'm amazed at her hard headedness, but I beleive I'll win this battle.

I then took her to a feeder and she struck a coon and treed it all by herself. I praised her, shot it out to her, and then came home.
