IF YOU LIVE AND HUNT IN OKLA. YOU BETTER ACT NOW !!! !!!
just received word that an Oklahoma Legislative conference committee has approved an amendment to Senate Bill 2093 which would remove a hunter's right to retrieve his/her dog from the land of another onto which the dog had strayed. Currently the law states that "The following persons may enter such land of another unless forbidden to do so, either orally or in writing, by owner or lawful occupier thereof; ...persons in the sole process of retrieving their domestic livestock or other animals. The conference committee's proposed amendment would remove the phrase "or other animals" The effect of this, if passed by the House of Representatives and Senate would be to destroy our rights to retrieve our hounds who had strayed onto land where we did not have permission to hunt.
It is urgent that you contact as many of the legislators as possible and ask them to vote against this proposed conference committee substitute to SB 2093. Contact as many other hunters as you can and ask them to do the same. The legislature is in its final days and, unfortunately, legislators are asked to vote on many measures they may not have even read. This is a typical political dirty trick. It is the same dirty trick that was used last year to pass the legislation which significantly increased the fines for trespassing.
PLEASE CALL ALL YOUR LEGISLATORS NOW AND ASK THEM TO VOTE AGAINST THE CONFERENCE COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SB 2093. This is essential if we are to preserve our right to freely cast our hounds. FELLOWS IF WE DONT ACT NOW WE ARE FINISHED IN OKLA.
ID LIKE TO SEE SOME OKLA. GUYS GETTIN ON HERE AND SAYIN ILL CALL, I CANT BELIEVE YOU ALL ARNT ALL OVER THIS
this will evect all dog owners so dont leave anyone out just because they dont hunt.a dog lover will not be happy with this law when he cant go get or look for his dog.
