Right Kind of Lime Question??
I just got a bag of lime from mother-in-law and on the bag it says high calcium Chemical Hydrated Lime (rotary kiln). Is this the same stuff you guys use in your kennels or something different. She said she didnt know where it came from uless her ex left it there when they split last year. Just wanted to know if this was right for my kennel or something else cause I have never use lime of any kind. Also if I can use this, how much do I put down and how long before I can put a hound back in. I have heard 2-3 days before turning a hound back in on this stuff. If it aint the right kind of lime I can use for a pen then at least I aint out no money and dispose of it some other way. Any help greatly appreciated.
I think stuff you want is called reject lime.I get mine from a local rock quarry. It is crushed lime stone, like a powder with little rock chips mixed in it. Hope this helped.

Chemical Hydrated Lime is fine to use. Sprinkle it around the dogs kennel. It is ok for the dogs to come into contact with the lime.
