dont want to screw up

Im pretty new to this sport. I just got my first dog a week ago, and im allready in need of some advice. We cant kill coon in Indiana till november and Id like to hunt my dog all summer, 5 plus nites a week if possible. Im just wondering if its a bad thing to pull him off the tree to much without giving him the coon. I dont want the dog to think hes working for nothing.

IF HES A COON DOG HE DONT NEED A COON. IF HES A PUP HE NEEDS A COON EVERY NOW & THEN.

In Pennsylvania you can get permission from a farmer to kill nuisance coon. I don't know if you can do that in Indiana or not. Some guys.........are willing to take the chance and use CB's ( a powdered down 22 shell that makes very little noise) to give their young dog what they need. Just realize the chance you take when you do it.
