needing some help

i just brought a female and she is real shy when u get within 5-10 to the tree. does any one know what to do?

let her get used to you I have a 1 week rule before i take a dog in the woods to let it get used to me handling it and get comfortable with me then I get the hound tied first before I praise and pet the hound if it is skiddish when on tree just dont chase her if she backs off the tree and dont scold her,yell,punish, etc... if she hangs back let her come back or coax her to come back. in my opinion scolding her for backing from the tree is the same thing as scolding or hitting a dog for not coming to you, would you want to come to someone if that is what happens when you do come back. she should get over skiddish with the positive reinforcement. good luck and I hope she works out for you.
