when a dog trees

I have a question. When dogs tree a coon or a cougar should I tie them to the tree every time. I have three dogs, the oldest dog is 4 she never leaves, the next is 2 once she sees the animal in the tree she stays.but I have a pup thats 7 months and he wants to keep tracking. he has stuck to the tree a few times when he can see it. I always put him back on the tree and hit the tree to make noise so he will look but he seems to just want to track. what do I do

Brandon I allways tie my dogs back expecially a young dog that way they dont take off meaning the young dogs It just makes it much nicer then if that young dog is not tied back and then they take off fartin around

tie him back from the tree--so he cant leave the area-- opposite the other dogs if you think theres a chance he will see it -(lion) - or downwindside on a coon in a thick tree

--do not tie him to the tree-
u cant push a pup you need to let them pull -lol

you may want to try holding his head so he can see whats in the tree- that doesnt work great as you probably already found out lol

if my dog is 7 months and he got there- hes doing fine- he will tree when he gets around to it -i have had lot s of dogs that would stay treed for hours that didnt tree a lick until twice that age -if a dog can run a track before it trees nowdays -- dont worry , be grateful - i can think of lots of things that mite get this pup to tree- i think all of them may encourage bad habits /cause jelousy / and not needed

at 7 months or even a year id just keep hunting him and see what happens -i bet he will tree all on his own in time-
