-- 50% Registration Fee Increase??? (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928419946)
50% Registration Fee Increase???
So PKC is offering thousands upon thousands of dollars to the winners of their large hunts. Now you have CHKC offering the largest purse for a World Championship in history and is growing leaps and bounds, hell even ACHA is offering $20,000 to this years World Champion. Registry competition is tight!! A coon hunter has only so many dollars to go around. So UKC decides to increase their litter registration by 50% and their permenant registrations by $4???

UKC Super Slams and their Performance Program have some of the highest % payback in the business. Super Slams payback 85% and Performance Program pays back 90%. Some registries keep a much larger % of the purse so they don't need to make anything off registration fees.

Really, what's the point in comparing one against the other? UKC registers more dogs than PKC, CHKC and ACHA combined so I'm not about to try and tell them how to run their business. Make your choice. My choice is to register with 3 KC's. They are what they are. I don't expect one to follow the others lead. And anytime i think something is too much or more than it's worth, I don't buy. Simple enough.

Once you register with UKC there is no membership just entry fees unless you want the magazine and with everything I need to know on here I don't even subscribe.

I recently reg a litter and the application that came back said $30. It's printed on orange paper.

increases!!!
Don't know anything about them yet, BUT don't include the payouts for Super Slams or Performance program as being the BEST payout available. When you pay big bucks to enter Slam the money comes out of your pocket that is paid back, not UKC bank account. When you get your performance check, that money comes from the breeders/hunters that pay in each year on the pups, not out of UKC bank account. Oh, by the way, remember they take out enough to cover their costs from each area & you have to pay for their magazine, instead of getting it free with memberships from other organizations. Remember, there is nothing free these days, except maybe popcorn at Thiesens' or lollypops for the kids at your bank. JMO. Take care, Ron.

OK...first of all...it's been 11 years since UKC raised the price to litter register.
Second of all....to register a litter of pups with PKC costs $7 plus $6 per pup. That means you would have to have a litter of less than 4 before they were less expensive.
To register a litter with AKC costs $25 plus $2 per pup. That means you would have to have a litter of less than 3 before they were less expensive.
The average coonhound litter is 6.5 pups. That equals $46 PKC, $38 AKC, $30 UKC.
Does that seem out of line? And no we are not holding up work on fee shorts but rather sending out a fee short notice with the completed work.

How much has a gallon of gas gone up in 11 years? A loaf of bread, it's called inflation if you don't like it don't register them. 7 good quality pups at $300 each is $2100 and yall are griping about $10.00 good god.
