What do you think it would do for the Black and Tan breed if a Black and Tan won the World Hunt? What do you think it would mean to the owner and breeder of the dog if they won the World Hunt? What do you think it would mean for the WHIF program if a Black and Tan won the World Hunt?

For the breed it would back up he fact that we are doing things right in the breeding pen. And getting them out in front of the rest of the world..

Owner,LOTS of phone calls,80% of them wont amount to a hill of beans, tire kickers, what ever you want to call them, they are the ones who breed to the local world champions... the other 20% half will be "yep Ill have her there next Monday" and never show up,and the other half will be serious breeders, that a person will want to work with to better the breed..

Breeder, Being proud of his work, and for producing a dog with the goods....

Hopeful the WHIF will keep on keepin on, maybe the winner would be gracious enough to donate the money back to it to buy the policy for the next year....

For the breed nothing they would say we just got lucky. For the owner it would put him on everyone's speed dial for awhile but then the hype would die off. For the breeder he would be on speed dial as well. As far as the whif it will still be there and they will be trying to raise money for it again.

This is what it would do

I don't think it depends on what click they are in but maybe what kind of person they are.

For the breed I think it would give the dogs credit where it's due. I think there are alot of nice black dogs out there. I wouldn't want it to over populate with people wanting what's hot right now. I'd like to see the people who will stay with the breed good and bad.

As far as handler and owner that must be a high to get that far. I couldn't imagin. I would hope that the dog would be bred to see how it reproduces.

Breeder should be proud and hopefully will help the owner of the dog find some nice dogs to breed to.

Whif I would hope that the premium would be paid by the winner but they earned it if they don't. I think it is a good idea to help the little guy to tell his wife what he could win. I don't feel that most of the guys really pushing dogs need the money.

Just my .02

Probably nothing for the breed long term. Have to win every several yrs to make much of an impact.

Owner/Breeder...Bragging rights and bumping the price of pups and stud fee...

WHIF.....Nothing...Noone is going out of there way to hunt blk dogs for $10000. Make it $50000+ or more and then you might see some serious competion hunters that know how to win switch to a B&T.

Posted by mike mizell on 08-05-2013 11:04 PM:

when Robert and me win the whiff next year this is what im doing.
Robert and me are spliting $5000.$2500 goes back to whif the other $2500 goes to the youth program.
as far as the breed goes.it will just stir up some chaos between the breeds for a while.
in the breeding pen it wont do much at all cause i aint breeding any dog i havent seen work with my own eyes.

I'd like to see exactly what all that would do for the breed.

dirt devil

you talk of all the line breeding then you want to breed anything that wins to buck 2 your just like all the other hope we get something out of this cross gold diggers tks tim

Posted by Dirtdevil on 08-06-2013 02:51 AM:

It's just a novelty idea ... we aint that far along yet to worry about it , but ... what makes you think that the dogs with the best chance of winning aren't Buck II decendants and would be linebreeding back to well from whence they came ?

As long as it's my daydream .. that's how it's gonna be .

Posted by tsizemore on 08-06-2013 02:53 AM:

close

if it was close buck 2 line bred but that probably won't happen

Posted by Dirtdevil on 08-06-2013 02:56 AM:

Which female probably will win then ?

Posted by tsizemore on 08-06-2013 03:01 AM:

female

the one with the most plus points

Posted by J I Allen on 08-06-2013 04:20 AM:

Probably hurt the breed, because every Tom, Dick and Harry with a black female will breed for no other reason than to make a quick buck selling puppies. UNLESS the breeder would only breed to nite champions or grand nite champions, then it could possibly help the breed. Now someone will say how many great pr dogs are out there without a title. If you want to breed to the world champion, prove how good she is and put a title on her.

Posted by tsizemore on 08-06-2013 04:46 AM:

thats it

what I was trying to say in the last post to much breeding for titles and not searching the peds and line bred coondogs everyone wants a weiner and that's whats happened to the breed thks tim

Posted by BlackDogs26 on 08-06-2013 05:26 AM:

I don't completely agree with this because some people breed who aren't competition hunters...don't mean their dog isn't a coondog...some just don't like the competition hunts for one reason or another ...

It would put a bnt in the history books for the breed as the dog had been the best of the best for those 2 weekends and 5 or 6 casts. Depends all on if they were a reproducer of top hounds what it would do for the breed.

Well I would hope the owner would be thankful and excited to have won the most prestigious world hunt. Then catch up on his lost sleep The breeder should be thankful that someone enjoyed a pup that he produced to like it enough to train and hunt it and loose a lot of sleep to promote it. That is all a breeder can hope for that he produces pups that people enjoy hunting to finish them and hunt them.

Well I don't really see that it would change the whif program. I would hope that if someone won it he or she would not donate part of that winnings back to the program. Except let the program build back up just like it was done to start with from the bottom up. JMHO

In my opinion the crying would pick up thats what I meant in my post earlier.

It would be good for the breed on paper but jealousy would pick up the pace.
The owner and breeder well they would be talked about if it wasn't a certain line.
And the whif I don't think you would get a dime back out of who ever won it. Some of its my opinion and the rest is pretty true

World Champ.

Don't think I would run out and get me some pups off the winner, but it would be nice to see it happen. It would give these B&T dogs some more credibility that they are WAY over due for.
