There should most definitely be some out there. I own a 4 year old that is out of a daughter of Fred. He's the reason I like the Fred dogs!

That is the complete opposite of every Fred dog I've ever hunted with. Most I've been with have been kick dirt in your face type, blaze a track and tree coon others didn't know were there. HUGE mouths. Curt was want $1,200 a breeding I believe.

You just described the dog I am hunting. I have inquired to several people about Fred dogs and have heard exactly what you just said. None of the people I have talked to said anything close to standing on their head type dogs.

I just got a fred female. Actually she is out of GRNITE CH SKUNA RIVER FRED BEAR. which is owned by danial wilson. First time i have ever owned on. she just turned a year old. Let's just say you want to win hunt's and not donate all the time get a FRED dog. You will love them. I will just say it will take alote to get this female off my hands. Loud mouth stand up tree dog. My female is 'PR' SKUNA RIVER BEAR KAT I know where a litter mate is to her for $500 he is worth alote more but thar is all he want's he has no time to hunt him.

Apple don't fall far from the tree. Your dogs dad is one of the loudest moat straight up and down tree dogs I have ever seen. He has them coons when he trees too!

My male off the Fred daughter is THE smartest dog I've ever put my hands on. Was super easy to start, and had a head full of sense from the time he was a very young pup. I've had him since he was 5 weeks old. Of course, he is bred nice all the way around...but I can only hope and pray I have another one like him one day!

guess they all throw different traits as the only dog I hunted with off Fred stood on his head too. Not bashing the Fred dogs I know there's good out there and I don't form an opinion after hunting one pup off him.

Blame the male, blame the male!!! Not every cross works like we want it to. How about looking at the females that those stand on their head dogs were off of. Look at the percentages. Fred is over 16%, and I'm glad to say I helped out with that. I own GRNITECH 'PR' Night N Days Dozer HTX. Dozer is also a PKC CH. Dozer is a BIG, LOUD, hound that is very good about having a coon. Dozer is off of Fred and GRNITECH Giannones Nocturnal Lacy 2.

so we shouldn't have posted our experience with Fred pup since they weren't positive? Not blaming Fred or the mother simply saying the 1 I seen stood on his head while trying to run a track. Sorry if that ain't what you wanna hear.

When talking about a dog, I like to hear both good and bad. Thats what should be told. You know and I know that when a dog has as many pups on the ground as Fred, there will be both good and bad. I do believe however, that when it comes to Freds offspring, there is a great number of dogs that have similar traits that are very desirable. I love to hear the one I have tree. Very classy. I have been told that is one of the traits he threw into his alot of his pups. They are also very accurate and move quickly on the ground. The one I have is a very quick one way track dog that is going somewhere when he opens. Most of what I have seen and been told was just like I just described. I am sure there are plenty that stand on there head also. Thats where the culling process should come in. JMO

I agree Mr Reynolds. Based on what Fred threw I had to try one. Never once did I nor will I say he didn't reproduce. I fully agree with the different types of pups he's gonna have based on such a high amount. All I have to say is like any other sire or dam there will be some duds along the way. I have heard tons of good stories on Fred dogs and would try one again.

I own a 7yo grnite pkc ch bitch off of fred.. Shes a track type hound.. Can track coons other dogs cant smell.. She gets on tracks she has no business fooling with in my opinion if the coons arent moving but will most always put a coon or den on the end of it.... shes what I call a track straddler.. Never picks her head up off the ground until it goes up a tree.. Shes a consistant cast winner by getting by her self and being deadly accurate..

I'll let yall in on a little secret, ole Fred's nick name was "Stand on his head Fred".. It might have almost cost him his life on a couple occasions

I will just say you won't go wrong with a fred dog. Ya there is good and bad in every breed. I will just say Hand's down I have hunted against SKUNA RIVER FRED BEAR myself. I love my dog to death I will be the first to say. My GRNITE CH 'PR' NELSONS LADIE. Stayed right up with him but still got her ass handed to her. I have hunted against him 2 times and was the only time i enjoyed donating money to watch a great hound to what he was breed to do and do it right.
