I do not know the complete results but they had 14 dogs. Matt not sure of his last name won the hunt. He had a very nice dog that I got to judge the first round.
I do know this for sure the Southern Michigan Beagle club did a great job and they have great running grounds. The food was great and what a good bunch of people. I am not sure if it called the Southern Michigan Beagle Club or the Southern Michigan Hillbilly Club. Drive 30 miles south and for a minute I thought I was in another state! lol
I would highly recommend everyone checking out this new UKC club. Great people, great food, great running grounds made for a great day!
One thing that I did find out. Guy Russell and his gang know all about the Indiana Train. Not trying to start anything but they pretty much told me there will be no train and no coo-coo going on at there club or in Michigan. They thought you guys set up your hunt the same day as them so you would have a reason not to show up? Sounds like they have it out for this so called train so I would be carefull if you show up to Michigan.
There is another PP hunt in Homer on the 29th which I know they are going to be at. I guess the message they asked me to pass along was if the train was going to be able to make it to Homer because they are and they are looking for a shot at this so called train?. Not sure who is all on this so called train but there are calling out Matt G, Travis, Don Wells, Jim S. and a bunch more people. I will try to get the rest of there names for you if it helps! lol
Nate no need to worry, I've been waitng on The Heat , The Train and can't remember the other one, heard the took their tracks out. LOL
WOW!!!! I don't think any of us were scared...we have had that date for about 4-5 yrs now. So you can really see who was scared. I won't be able to make the hunt on the 29th I'll be I Albany, GA treeing the snot out of ringtails @ the Winter Classic. But I hope for our sake someone goes up there and opens a can on some MI dogs. Glad to hear the turn out was good and everyone had a good time.

Thornie I am not too worried about it and this so called train or what ever they talk about. I think they just get on here and talk big but never go any where to hunt! lol
That reminds me Thornie when is the last time you and Dan have been to Michigan????
To all PP people JUST BRING IT!. After the hunt is over on the 29th any out of state people will be heading home with no hardware! lol
I will even make a call out to the so call Legend and this Smoke Creek guy that talk so much.
For the last couple of years I have heard all this PP talk so lets see who is brave enough to show up on the 29th in Michigan!
Nate
Please get back on your meds... I dont recall seeing you here on January 8th for the Blizzard Challenge??? Im am glad to hear that the hunt was good and would love to support one of their trials this year.
I think the best way to help a club get people to travel to them, is by staying on the topic of good running grounds, food, people and most importantly, sportsmanship.
was just wondering if you are planning to come to NY in May? I trialed in 5 states last year, so I hope you lead by example as well.

Ok Rick I will get back on the meds just trying to have a little fun with everyone. The Blizzard Challenge sounds like a great time and from the post everyone did have a great time. I don't like to hunt in 6" of snow let alone 3 feet so it might not be possible for me to make that hunt. lol
I have been to a several states over the years to run but with age (big 33 today) a wonderful wife and two great young boys I try to stay close to home these days. I would enjoy coming to your club and running but I know it won't be this year. May is baseball season for my oldest. Give me a few years so these boys of mine can tag along and you never know we might just show up one day. I am sure I will run into you at the world or nationals one day but until then I will just have to talk big on the internet! lol
I agree good running, good food, good people and great sportmanship is what makes clubs go and why people attend them. That is what this post was all about. Sorry if you took it the wrong way.
Happy Birthday old man!!
No offense taken.. I too wish I could be at every trial across the country but my bank account says different ( we all can have landrys cash!!!) I hope someday you can make the trip over and do some running ( hunting or trialing).
I love hearing that PP is catching on in MI. I will be in Taylor MI next month to visit a buddy.. How far are you from There (Detroit area)? If close maybe you can join us for some fun and runs!
Look forward to catching up with you and busting some B-lls!! Have a great Birthday and keep us posted on the club.. Sounds like a good trial to hit!
Smokes Creek Guy.... lol

Glad we are on the same page. Let me know when you are in Michigan I will drive up there to meet you guys or you are more then welcome to stop in the big town of Homer for some fun and running as well. Should be less then 2 hours from Taylor. Send me a message or e-mail me on the details nate@pcsmichigan.com and I will be there.Maybe the lengend will see this and send some money are way so we can get together and run.
We are trying to get the PP going in Michigan. This will be the first that we are having on the 29th in Homer so I was hoping some of these pro beaglers would come up and show us what a real dog is! The one last weekend is only 40 minutes from Homer so if we keep working together maybe it will take off. I know we all had a great time and yes there was a TON of BSing going on! lol
Sorry about the Smoke Creek guy remark I should have said the "great smoke Creek" not just some guy.
Here is a bet for you. If our great football team the Lions make the playoffs before your great Bills then you have to come to a hunt in Homer Michigan. If the Bills make the playoffs before the Lions I will head your way for a hunt! We might both be dead before either happens but maybe one will happen! lmao!!!!
thats funny!
we better come up with a new bet or we will never see one another's club!!! Well if I find a good dog I'll head up lol!! I'll keep you posted when I nail down a date for Taylor MI.
I really will try to make one of those trial later this year. Ive trialed in MI alot, and always had off the wall runs!
Let me know if I can help you guys in anyway! Now go have some beers for your bithday, and make sure to charge em to Landry!!!
Talk to you soon,
Rick

Gollyeeeeeee Nate, isn't funny why we never got along, you just turned 33 and I turn 66 this month. Maybe a horoscope thing. LOL
Guy,
What a nice club. Sportsmanship was great and the dog work was fun to watch.
Guy runs a top notch operation and I was very glad I had the chance to meet him and everyone else there. I am glad to see a new club running performance pack and with some awsome running grounds.
This will club has a ton of potential and with some top notch dogs in the area you better bring your A game...
Oh yea Nate,
Last but not least if the browns make the playoffs you both have to come to ohio for the big show down to take on Larry, Curly, and Mo!!!!!!!!!
This was a very nice club and i had a good time. I got to no some new folks up north and i found them to be good down home people. The food! Its was so good. The beagles ran great and the judges did a fine job. One thing i found out was no pp champions showed up. Come on now i no there are some great pp champions out there. Please i encourage all pp champions to go to this new club next time. You will have a good time. Maybe folks new that i was going to bring Hill Shakers Little Candy Girl and got scared OH! LOL. Come on now ladys and gentleman get them hounds out and give Candy some competition. All jokes aside i encourage all of you to go to the next pp hunt in michigan it will be fun and that's what it is all about. It was also nice to get to no Jed Nickels. Thanks everyone. From the Couch Potato Beagle Boys God bless and see you at the next hunt.
I believe the last time I went to a field trial in MI was in 2002 when I was running the Hound of the Year race in ARHA. WOW, that was a long time ago and how time flies!!!!
I will be back up there again one of these days, but it is going to have to warm up!!!! CHOO CHOO!!! lol

The hunts are always great with Curly, Larry and Moe. I am just so suprised that you two can type and use a computer. Too bad Larry did not make the trip but we all had a blast. Curly I am sure everyone was scared of Candy that is why no champions showed up!lol
Matt hope you can make it back to Michigan soon. The weather is nice right now high of 9 today!
Man!, are high today is 6. Its -2 right now. I really don't feel like going out side today.

I remember seeing you at the State hunt a couple years ago. Evan and I had a great time down at your club. Hope you all can make it up to Michigan and show us how it is done.
I will believe it when I see this so called train roll in. Please let me know when and if you are coming so I can be sure to be there as well. If you come to Homer I will be there for sure as this is my home club.
Good luck running dogs we have a hunt tomorrow as well so that should be fun!
New Club
Where is this new Michigan club? Does anyone have contact info for the Pres. or other persons in charge?

In response to the original post. The southern michigan beagle club holds our club to high standards. We are a club that runs by the rules and it doesnt matter where the dog comes from if its the best dog that day it wins. We enjoy having people from all over the country show up to our hunts. We do welcome the best so we know what inprovements we need to make to be competitive. As far as this so called indian train this was the first time we have ever heard of it, we have been to coatsville indiana pp trail and that is one of the reason we decided to try pp hunts. That club is class act. If anyone feels the need to contact me about this post or anything else my number is 734-320-3170, my name is Ryan Stetler I also am the president for the person who asked. Guy also told me to put his number on here for anyone that would like to contact him his celll is 517-398-0181. Thank you for your time.
Good Morning to all. My name is Guy Russell and my wife and myself started So. Michigan Beagle Club in 1996. As Ryan Stetler stated, we hold ourselves to the highest standards no matter what format is running that day, ARHA PP or UKC PP.
As to the allegations regarding the Indiana train, someone should get their facts straight. I have never met the men that Nate Butler mentioned other than Matt Glomski. And Matt is the main reason that we made the decision to try this format of running style. I also have many good friends in Indiana, friends that I have run and competed beagles with for years. It doesn't matter where you are from. We all are Beaglers, and should realize that we need to work together no matter where we are from, in order to achieve a common goal, fun, and a good running hound. Anyone from any state is welcomed at the Southern Michigan Beagle Club.
I would hope that all would give us a try and come visit us at one of our trials or just come to visit and talk hounds. ( that is always my passion).
Please I welcome any one to call me should you have any questions about the allegations made by Mr. Butler. Guy Russell 1-517-398-0181.
PS I will not be seeing you in Homer. I have nothing to prove to anyone. And when you treat someone right and they make false allegations when on my home ground, what will be done when I am at his HOME Club.

Hold on Everyone
I think some people have taken this post the wrong way! As I said above this club was great. The running, food, sportmanship, the laughs were GREAT. In no way was anyone suppose to take this the wrong way. I had a great time finally getting to meet Guy Russell, Ryan, and the rest of the members from Southern Michigian that were there. You guys did a great job and we will be back for the next one to help support your club. Just like we did this time!
I have called Ryan and Guy to clear this up with them as well.
UKC is new for the southern Michigan Club and I think from talking to everyone they feel I was disrespecting the Indiana Train, Smoke Creek, the Legend and there club. I know for a fact Smoke Creek knows this was just for fun and talking a little internet trash, as well as Travis who I sent a message to him about this the day of the post since I don't know him personally I did not want him to take things the wrong way which I don't think he did as well.
For the last few years I have been watching and reading the "trash tallking" and ball b---ting going on and the fun people are having in PP and I was just trying to help get this started in Michigan which after seeing and attending the SMBC and knowing what the Homer club is about I think we could make this a win win for everyone who enjoys beagles.
I am hoping the Indiana Train did not take this wrong and I aploize to Guy, Ryan and any of the members of SMBC that may have took this the wrong way. Matt Glomski, Don Wells, Travis or anyone else in on the train Guy did not say a bad word about any of you. I was just having a little fun with everyone trying to get UKC PP going in Michigan and from reading your past post I was just trying to let you know you can now have the same fun in Michigan with two GREAT clubs trying to start UKC PP.
If anyone has a question for me please call me 517-617-3840. I came into work today to post this to make sure everyone knew the facts if this was taken wrong.
Guy or anyone else as for what you will get at my or our HOME club. You will get get judged by the rules, we will have plenty of food, plently of spots to run with rabbits(yesterday we just held a 40 dog hunt with plenty of rabbits to run which one of your members took 2nd place in congrats to him) and there will be a TON of laughs and even more BSing, or this so called "trash talking" going.(at least from me)lol We have hunts for one reason and one reason only to have FUN. Plus we get meet other people who enjoy what we all like which is running dogs!
Now that is done and things should be cleared up I have heard rumor that this so called train is starting to get a group to head our way! You can bet one thing if they do come up hear and whip us Michigan people they will be typing and letting everyone know about it come next week on this messge board! LOL means Lots of Laughs.
Hope to see you guys on the 29th. For the record Nate Butler is still calling out the train to just BRING IT! LOL
Just some good ole Trash Talikin is all it was. We have a great time with it over the years since PP has started. You can go back and search "train" and come up with a bunch of good stuff I'm sure. I assure you know one was hurt, or deterred from coming to Guy's club or Homer in the future. I'm planning on hitting a lot of hunts this year, and a trip to MI is in the books when the dates line up. CHOO CHOO!!!!!
